cheap 700c kit?

I'm trying to make my first foray into electric bicycles and am looking for an inexpensive (entry level) kit for a bike i already have in my garage. It's an old bianchi with 700c rims. Unfortunately, I've found that many of the lower cost kits (BD24, BD36) are for 26" rims only. Can anyone point out a cheap, low assist kit for my first bike that will fit my 700c bike? or is there an easy way to make a 26" rim work on my bike?

Thanks,

What about the BL36? I have one on my 700c bike... I got it from BernsonEV

I also think that electricrider.com has them too.

On http://www.7gen.com/website-categories/electric-bicycle-kits I've found several bicycle kits, some of which are for 700c wheels.

I've looked at the BL-36 (~$450) but i was more interested in the BD-24 (~$250). I'm looking for low cost, marginal assist. Unfortunately the BD-24 only comes in 26" sizes. Is there a "low cost" 700c kit? or am i better off modifying my bike to accept the 26" wheels?

I understand the virtue of cheap, but maybe you should just garage sale for a bike to fit the kit of your choice. That way your vintage road bike stays cherry. Weight won't matter to the ebike that much. The kit will add around 40 pounds anyway.

Re: cheap 700c kit?

The more i read about these projects, the more i see that cheapest is not probably going to be best. I'm going to re-consider the BL-36 from WE.

That being said - am i likely to be happy with the BL-36? Am i going to want an immediate upgrade? I have an 8 mile (one way) commute to work on flat ground with some windy stretches. Is a 36V brushless suited for this? (i ride it now with no assist, albeit infrequently)...
