Just got a Lashout Scooter. Tons of fun!!!

Just got a lashout 24v electric board scooter. This thing is fast!!! Anyone else have one here?

I got it second hand. About a year old and came with a Currie 24v charger. Advice on upkeep, battery care?

I have similar scooters - and, yes, they are GREAT fun! How fast does yours go? If you actually sit on the deck and ride it, it feels like about 50mph because so close to the ground

Re: Just got a Lashout Scooter. Tons of fun!!!

I bought a new Lashout in October 2007. I can't say that I think it's all that fast, but speed is relative. They are well-made little scooters, but they are only 24V and 400W so if you can get close to 15MPH that's about all you should expect. My range had dropped to less than 2 miles, so I opened it up and found 7Ah batteries instead of the 10Ah its supposed to have. I revived a couple of old generic 10Ah SLA's and it's been doing better. I have a new set of B&B 12V 10Ah that I am conditioning to put in it soon. Two more discharge and recharge cycles and I'll be ready to install them. I have already completely re-wired the battery system to discharge in series at 24V 10Ah, and to recharge in parallel using one 12V battery charger with the 2 batteries wired in parallel at 12V 20Ah. I've been running it like that for about a month, and am convinced it is much better for the batteries than string charging with the stock 24V charger.

Aside from keeping the batteries charged, normal maintenance includes checking electrical connections from time to time, keeping the chain lubed and adjusted, and keeping the tires inflated properly. Not much else to worry about until it breaks.

Enjoy your scooter.

Thanks for the tips! Not much information online about these. I understand they are no longer made/sold. The guy I got it from mentioned that Andy from electrikmotion.com had some parts. I'm looking for a seat kit that's made for it. Would be nice to have. Any idea where I could buy one? Is their a forum anywhere for this scoot?

I got one of these on ebay a couple of months ago and did some mods to it. The thing is killer! You are correct, scooter is no longer made. Parts are pretty common and can be found at various sites on the web. evdeals.com is a good place to start. Best thing I did was buy PowerPack motor and controller from http://powerpackmotors.com/Powerpack-enhanced-shipping_included.html
Ran at 24v for a bit and then added a 3rd battery and bumped up to 36v, now the thing rocks! Just took it for a test spin and read 25.6 mph on flat ground. That is with 3 12v 10ah batteries, the seat and me at 180lbs. At 48v I am sure it would do 30mph easy. Best I got with stock motor was 14mph, PowerPack at 24v gave me 16mph but much better hill climbing than stock. Andy has the most built out LashOut I have seen, here is a link that shows you what he did.

I looked high and low for a seat. Finally got one from the guy who sold me the scooter. Here is a link to his ebay store. He only seems to reply if I contact him through ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/Mini-Fun-On-Wheels. I can post some photos of mine later if you like

This is Andy, and mine does goes really well with the Powerpack motor and 48V LIFEPO4 battery set up. Jeff at the link below has one with twin powerpack motors that does 40 MPH! The small battery box needs enlarging, and the rear brake isn't that great when the thing goes over 30 MPH, otherwise the scooter needs nothing. I think they were the best built small scooters ever made. Built like a tank with quality Taiwan components.

Thanks for the info guys! I thought this thread was dead for sure...:-)
I'd really like to find a seat. Also, as much fun as this scoot is with stock motor and batts, I can't imagine how much more the mods would add. Sounds like a fun project.

I'd love to see pics if you have them. Thanks for the feedback!! I'm on vacation at the beach and already I miss my scoot! Been making up excuses to take it on all the "close to home" errands and it's been a blast...
