Decreased distance per charge

Install the BD24 6 weeks age. I have put on about 300 miles and I always recharge the batteries after each ride. Now I'm noticing a gradual decreased in mileage per charge. At first 12-14 miles before noticing a marked decreased in power. Now at around 7-8 miles I notice a marked decreased in power.

Is this normal for the SLA setup?
Any suggestion to regain lost performance of the batteries.

Your batteries should not be decreasing this quickly. Are you discharging them completly when riding. This will damage the batteries or if you do not recharge them for a day or two after using them. It could be that they were not fresh when you recieved them.

Sometimes the batts a pretty well discharged after a 12-15 mile run but most rides are 5 -10 miles . I usually charge until the charger lit turns green. But now will just leave it charging unless out on the road (sidewalks, beach , across the median, etc.)

If you are riding until you notice a marked decrease in power, you are over-discharging the batteries.
lead acid batteries take especially badly to this.

were you riding until you noticed a drop off in power intially?
or is 12-14 miles your normal commute, and you are only just noticing a drop off in range?

what batteries (specifically) are you using?
what are you putting them in?
what are you using to charge them?

if you are lucky, and the loss of performance is due to battery imbalance, rather than actual lost capacity, than this is recoverable.

After each ride I plug in the charger. At first after 12-14 miles I would notice a drop off in power.( ( Going to work commute.)
Now on a 6-8 mile ride I notice a drop off in power.
Battery type : 12v 12amp from WeRelectrifie ( Two of them )
System : BD24V motor
Charger : 24v 1 amp from WeR

I'll try charging each one with my 12V charger and see what happens

That is a pretty long haul for the brushed motor. Actually your decreased performance is pretty close to the best I could ever get with my bd36. Of course my range would suffer from riding faster, but still, I suspect you are hammering the battery pretty hard regularly at that distance. You may want to look into a 20 ah lifepo4. On ebay Ping is the best. The stock bd kits perform pretty good up to about6- 8 miles, after that its a lot of stress on the battery.

I always peddle along on the Ebike so maybe that explains the 12-14 mile range.
I just received a 12V batt to upgrage to 36V but will use the 24V controller. that should give me the 10-15 mile range I need and hopefully be easier on the batteries.

I'll file the info on the other type of batt for future use.

Sometimes connectors loosen up and cause a decrease in power. Check battery connectors, controller, and wheel connectors.

If you get 15 miles with that board along you must really peadle. At 36v you will find it harder to peadle and help unless you are geared really high. I find slow hard to do, and usually hold the trottle full on. Maybe it would be easier to half throttle with a twist type but the thumb throttle seems hard to hold in one spot for long.

That last surf trip is when I really noticed a decrease in range. The trip was around 10 miles and I WAS really peddling hard at the end.But it's pretty flat terrain.
Just hooked up the third battery and what a difference. Easily cruising 20-23 mph ( peddling along ) Don't want to go any faster unless I upgrade the brakes.
