What size fuse would you run on a BD36 with a 48V system?
I have 40amps but would like to switch them out for 25amps, if that is not too low.
Just out of curiousity, does anyone know what amps the BD48 draws under peak load, for example starting up on an uphill?
And how much does it draw while running at full power at top speed, no pedalling?
I posted some pics of my battery tray for 48V of 12ah lead acid here:

Sorry, images were too big to post here.
Don't know about the amp draw or fuse questions, just wanted to say good job on the battery mounting idea. I'd like to do something like that, but have rear monoshock suspension, so not quite enough room.
Gasoline? No thanks.

The controller is 35 amp so I think a 40 may be about right. You could try a 25 and carry the 40 in case. Since my Ping is supposed to cut out at 35 amps, and never has climbing a big hill, 25 may be enough, I really just don't know. Got no dashboard on my bike.

I like your CAD work (CAD = Cardboard Aided Design) .. just make sure it's narrow enough to fit between your legs. That's a perfect location on most bikes for a battery pack and if the box is narrow enough you won't notice it.
