In the Best Interest of V

Maybe some sort of combined location, IP, browser and host identification and blocking should be implemented for those visitors whose interests degrade the spirit of what this forum is used for.

Well, you too.

I don't want this to seem like it's all about me, me, me. ;)

We have ways of doing this in the site. However the method to determine the intent of a given user is very fallable. There's no software that can detect intent. That leaves the moderator team to observe and watch and act based on the events that unfold.

If you're concerned about someone let us know, such as using the Contact link at the top of the page.

But.. let me ask you something. Are you serious in wanting to ban someone just on their intent?

So far we take action when someone is causing turmoil or otherwise misbehaving. If someone is behaving themselves but is clearly an agent provacateur trying to plant Faux News snippets and getting us to question our dedication to electric propulsion and return to the use of oil as God intended us to move our butts from place to place ... so suppose someone is doing that, but doing so in very good behavior, you're telling me they should be banned?

Actually, I'm thinking about ...name removed.... He's already banned, but hasn't figured out many people don't want him around.

It seems as if he does things to tick people off, then they post one-sided arguments over here. I'm not quite sure if the fights are in emails or what, and for some reason they get reposted here.

For those who don't know ...name removed... antics, it's a bit confusing. For those who do, it's annoying I'm sure.

Just an idea.

Re: In the Best Interest of V

It appears to me that ...name removed... is just trying to protect people from being ripped off by companies like EVTA and X-Treme. I sure wish I would have been here in Oct 2007, to be warned about EVTA. EVTA promised a BattEQ (I could write a book about what they promised and didn't deliver) and didn't deliver, X-Treme promised BMS on the XM-3500 and didn't deliver. AF, what have you ever done to protect the EV community from these scam artists? My guess is nothing.

Re: In the Best Interest of V

What ...name removed... is doing is slamming other companies in order to make his company look golden. A haven't seen this tactic in a long time, but it is something used by those people/companies who feel they need to "break out" into the business. Some people fall for those types of ethics, I do not.

The flipped side of that coin; I do the same thing, but with X-Treme. My targets are not Vespa, or your EVTA, but directly back at MY supplier, X-Treme. I tell you guys of the issues that come up with X-Treme and their products. I let you know of a couple emails I've sent to them and link to Service Tickets I feel need to be brought public. I even post letting you guys know I'm having problems with another new person in X-Treme's parts department.

What I don't do is post every single little thing that comes up with any other company or product - that is not of my concern. I have my own things to take care of and don't have the time or business practice to produce nothing but hate against other business people.

That is unless it becomes excessively troublesome to the point where their problems with their customers are coming back to me. I've tried to stay out of this, but if these other people (...link removed...) want to name me in his whiny rants, then expect me to react. I'd also love to post proof of my information, but can't due to an active copyright law attached. :)

Oh, that reminds me - for those legal types:

All information I post here on this forum is my personal opinion and in no way reflects the beliefs and/or opinions of others on this forum. It is just a rant, nothing more. Link...

So be cool - your name's no longer on here.
