X-treme Scooters USA

I'm thinking of purchasing an XB-700li from the afore mentioned company since they have the lowest pricing. Does anyone have any personal experience with them?

Re: X-treme Scooters USA

I believe X-treme, Alpha Products International and AdvancedElectricScooters.com are all the same entity. Plus many other web sites appear to be direct links to their products.
I purchased through AdvancedElectricScooters.com but only dealt with X-treme when it came to warranty issues. While my bike has had numerous problems, their support has been good. They've sent me replacement parts without any hassles and without even requiring me to return the failed components. From my experience they seem honest and responsive. That is not to say things are perfect as these products are often very new and I had heard that some parts weren't immediately available for some owners. Also, if you're really not happy with your bike it can be expensive to return these.

If you love electric bikes and scooters and don't mind "tinkering" then you'll probably be okay. There is a lot of support here and in other forums as well. Don't expect perfection though, and be sure and check local rules regarding use of these products.

my 2 cents....

I agree with Zapdos, Xtreme scooters are good for tinkerers, or hobbyists. That said, the 700i is the top end of the bicycle scooters, and as I understand it, is physically the largest of the lot, and hopefully the best built. If you read through this site, all the stuff people have written about Xtreme scooters, and it sounds like fun, then buy one by all means. I am enjoying my XB-600, that has the shunt mod, and the 60 volt mod, and will now do 30 mph. At least till I blow a fuse!

Re: X-treme Scooters USA

xtreme site shows scooter has a 40Amp battery @ 48V ??? yea, right..Hell, I cant even BUY cells for a 48V 40Ah battery for $1700 !
lasts 7 to 10 years ?? Hell, why not just say 20 to 30 years...nothing is too extreme for xtreme !
You'll have great fun working on this one to keep it running
Oh, and be sure to quote HR 727 to the cop who is writing u a ticket for no tag. That will be REALLY fun !

I think I hear your mommy calling you, proton.

Aren't 14 year olds suppose to have a curfew?

Re: X-treme Scooters USA

I bought my 700Li from Alpha Products International, Newton, Iowa. Here in California there is no requirement for a motorcycle license, plate, insurance or registration. I bought a plate to help explain what it the bike is and the Modesto, CA police haven't bothered me before or after.

I even put a laminated copy of the Vehicle Code as it pertains to electric assisted bicycles under my seat for them to look at. I'm going on four weeks of daily driving all over town and haven't needed it :)DSC00021.jpg

I love tinkering with it and my next project is to add LED headlamps.

Happy biking and wear a good helmet.DSC00024.jpg

bickyd1a - Congrats on your bike - where will you be riding it? (I love benmart's plate!)

BTW - to the guy who said "I can't even buy batteries for $1700": Here's a 16 cell, 40Ah set with charger for $1248 from a US distributor. Prices are falling.

Re: X-treme Scooters USA

...and keep in mind that the XB-700li uses LiMNO2 batteries, not LiFePO4. I would have preferred LiFePO4 battery chemistry, but I can settle for LiMNO4.

That being said, I really like the bike! I had an XB-600 that I left unmodified (silly me, but I didn't know then, what I know now), and wanted something better.

So far, so good. Yes, you do have to be willing to tinker a bit. But at least I HAVE something that is capable, and it is within my means to purchase!

Cheers!

Re: X-treme Scooters USA

Scoot, you can order one from James at marketwizard1 [at] cox.net. He has a store on ebay at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Custom-Personalized-motorcycle-moped-LICENSE-PLATE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34284QQihZ025QQitem...

The plate is fiberboard encased in plastic. When I got mine I found the pre-drilled holes in the plate didn't match up with the holes on the fender. I drilled some to line up and James said that water may get in and damage the fiberboard. He said that in the future, if I measure the holes on the fender he can duplicate that on the plate itself which will ensure it's waterproof.

I like the plate so much I am going to order a few others with something like "E-bike. It justs keep going and going", or "E-Bike. Where's the outlet?"

By the way, on my plate the "CVC 24016(a)" refers to the California Vehicle Code that pertains to E-Bikes. I put it there as an "educational reference" for the police and non-EV public.

Happy scooting and wear a good helmet.

Re: X-treme Scooters USA

Thanks again everyone. I'll be riding in sunny San Diego CA., and I will be ordering a plate just like Benmart's. Any idea as where to find saddle bags for the XB-700Li?

Re: X-treme Scooters USA

Hi everyone, since James can pre-drill the holes on the plates he makes would someone let me know the hole spacing needed so I can order one now before my bike arrives.

Re: X-treme Scooters USA

Bicyd1a, I went out and measured mine which is 4 1/2 inches.

The holes on the fender are elongated slots and can accomodate 4 to 6 inch spacing between plate holes. Hope this helps.
