Hello forum members,

I am looking for links(or any ideas) to schematics of turbo/boost power switches(solid state diac, scr,or mechanical relays would probably be used) for mainly acceleration uphill;I have a 24 volt brushed motor in a chinese electric scooter(similar in looks to an X-Treme X-360 escoot),and would like any information about power controller bypass circuitry,and/or how to wire the OEM power controllers(might get 2 of these to increase the
AMPS to the motor)in parallel for better acceleration/hill climbing ability??

I also am thinking of upgrading the OEM electric motor in my scooter so have uploaded a few pictures (for forum member reference)of the OEM motor(picture # MOT-24250),and the upgraded motor(picture # MOT-24350) I may purchase if it will fit my scooter frame!

BTW,any suggestions of a good 24-48 volt replacement motor (either Scott,Kollmorgen,or 4 " X 4 " case size,CW-rotating motor shaft will work with my e-scoot)-brushed only-would be appreciated!!

Unless the new motor has a higher wattage, or higher RPM then you will feel no differece.
You can get a new controller with a higher wattage output, and that will give you the extra boost you need to go uphill.
But you must remember that this will put strain on your motor, and it might fry.

Either a relay to take the controller out of the circuit or a boost pack would work. But, as Dave points out, this puts a strain on the motor it may or may not be able to handle.

(FYI the Kollmorgen is brushless).

TNC scooters has inexpensive more powerful motors in that configuration. Get a matching controller as well. Only problem is I noticed they were out of stock on just about everything due to increased interest in small EV"s.

I probably have a new 500 watt 36V motor lying around here somewhere that I took out of my sons bike, and a 500 watt 48V motor out of my Xtreme scooter.

U mention brushed motors. I don't know about those as much as brushless. Powerpackmotors sells a 1500 watt brushless that is unreal. I had it on my stealth 1000 and now I have a mars etek on the bike and I miss my 1500. 39 mph. Real deal you will not care about brushes ever again.

Use a power controller which can supplier higher output voltage.
