Ignorability

Does some V member drive you up the wall and you want to never see their rantings and ravings ever again? Click 'Ignore user' and they disappear into the ether.

It's a new feature, just installed.

Re: Ignorability

David

That is a really good way to silence opinions, put a damper on a web site and drive people away.

That happened on AVS (Audio Video Science)forum, the moderators started deleting threads and banning people that said negative stuff about some of there advertisers or that rubbed them the wrong way. Some people were kicked off, but somehow were right back on after a few days, not sure how they did that or why they would even care to get back on the site.

Turns out that there was a new competing site starting up, the moderator (the guy that started the site) pretty much let the people that used the site police themselves. It does get a little extra interesting at times, keeps a person from getting bored to death from all the same questions being asked over and over.

It does have some really nice Avatars too!

Re: Ignorability

Oops, my bad, I though the ignore thing would remove people from the web site. So it only makes it so you will not see a certain persons post.

Never mind.

Re: Ignorability

Looks like a safe thing to have on the site.

Re: Ignorability

Re: Ignorability

Is there an investigability feature that tells you if anyone, or how many users, or maybe even who is using the ignorability feature on yourself?

This information may be used entirely at your own risk.

There is always a way if there is no other way!

Well, I could do a database query if I were curious about that. The module itself doesn't provide that information.
