I'm curious if the folks at Currie did little more than increase the wattage rating due to feeding the SAME or close to the same motor another 12V of power, which would clearly up the wattage. Thoughts???

Well that's kinda what we've all done, trading out controllers if we had to, to go from 36v to 48v. The motors seem to handle 12v more pretty easy. Going to 72v is another story, but a lot of the brushless hubs seem to be up to it.

Right, I get that. But did Currie not actually upgrade the motor much and just badge it a 1,000 W simply by upping the fed voltage?
Could you post a good close-up of the motor on your S650, please?
