Zuumer

Good morning V Group.
I would like to introduce a new platform to the Voltage Forum.
There has been talk about platforms like Ours here before and I would like to introduce the Zuumer to the group.
I made the first motorized unit back in 2003 to see if it would work, it did.
since then we have worked om Patents and Partners.
We believe this is the hottest platform on the Market.
I would like feedback to what this group thinks and ideas of how we can make it better.
Thank you for your time.

Re: Zuumer

Once I found the video it made a lot more sense:-

FWIW a little advice.. it would help a lot to be more up-front about what you have. The front page of your web site doesn't tell me anything about your vehicle and in fact with the vision of a country road I thought it was a motorcycle or a car.

Anyway, cool looking vehicle.. Cost? When?

Re: Zuumer

David,
Good advice. Thank you. This website is really just a place holder as we build the new one. The new one will be launched this Summer. We wanted to let the publis know what is comming, although we are keeping a loose lid on it overall.
We did want to contact a couple Green and Electric powered forums to introduce Ourselves as the zuumer Team.

We are working with Corp America at this time to help support the movement around their Campus facilities.

The Zuumer will be avalible to the General Public aroung 4th Qtr of this year.

They start at $1800 and will go between 25 and 30 miles per charge, depending on weight of rider and terrian.

The key is the how safe they are to ride. hands down, it is the easiest and safest platform around.

It is easier to ride than a bike, and in emergancy situations, you can avoid an accident without loosing control.

There are a few Zuumers that we are allowing people to buy if they meet the criteria.

Hope this helps.

Re: Zuumer

On the positive side...looks like alot of fun. Seems to have good power...a front wheel hub motor??? I really like the action of the rear wheels that lets it lean into the turns.

On the negative side...wouldn't pay $1800 for one. $200 more and a person can be riding the XM3000...a 45mph sit down regular electric highway legal/registered scooter. Illegal I suspect in most states on sidewalk...and highway...so where are you going to ride it. Most college campuses don't allow powered vehicles of any kind on sidewalks either.

Think I'll stay with my XB600...but good luck. At the very least it will get some people interested in electric powered transportation!

Re: Zuumer

Just learned the Zuumer guys are gonna be doing a tour of the "left coast" .. that is .. starting in San Francisco and ending in San Diego. Hopefully I can meet up with them and try this out.

Re: Zuumer

Wanted to post a little bit more about this scooter... I had a chance recently to talk with Tom Boyd (the writer above) and they are starting their ZuumQuest next week. I'm due to have a chance to meet them, do test rides, etc... I've written up a blog posting on 7gen.com: First look at the Zuumer .. but I found some interesting video just now which shows some interesting details. The rear looks like independent swing arms.

Re: Zuumer

A distributor had recently contacted us by email with the following picture. It is suppose made in Switzerland. But I don't believe this product have the carve back wheel like the BMW skateboard. I have ask them to drop off a demo unit for us to test ride this.

Re: Zuumer

It's hard to tell much about the rear end from that picture. The rear end looks like a different design than the zuumer. There was a long review posted elsewhere (Zuumer Electric Scooter: Hands-On, First Drive) which has some indepth pictures.

The battery pack on that does look very much exactly like the pack Zuumer is using. And the ZuumCraft people did tell me their pack is made in Switzerland. It has a little LCD panel on the top end which shows battery state and other info.

Was this told to you to be a Zuumer? They do have a lower end model than the one I tried out, and I haven't seen nor ridden their lower end model. If this is supposed to be a Zuumer then it could be that lower end model.
