Good find. However it would appear to limit discharge to a level only useful on a bicycle...? Maybe there's a detector you could neglect to wire up so that it doesn't see the discharge current.

Another way to go would be to put together multiple battery packs each having a discharge of 40Amps. Running in parallel you could get much higher current flow. I realize it does increase the price of the packs but I am thinking of building several small 36-volt packs so I can add or subtract amp hours (Packs) for different ranges. This would allow me to run with a lighter battery load for short runs and reserve the long runs for the heavier battery load which I do not do very often. Most of my rides are about 10 miles round trip. I could then also make multiple short runs by changing battery packs. I wanted to do this with the DeWalt packs but their BMS was not up to the task, this BMS would be a great replacement if it works. 3 or 4 Dewalt packs as a pack would make a good small pack size with reasonable amp hours for each pack. For your application (motorcycle) 4 packs like this could give you about 150 amps at about 12 AH in a much smaller package than 4 large Lead batteries and should weigh about 1/3 less.
