New kart project finished. Pictures. Goped TRQ Gone electric

Here are a few pictures of a Goped Trail ripper quad converted to electric. The original 2 stoke motor was too loud and under powered. Now my son can ride care free without compaints from the neighbourhood. Let me know what you guys think.........Hawker 26ah batteries, Scott motor @ 24 volts, Alltrax 300 amp controller, 0-5K Thumb throttle, top speed of 26-30 mph.

Here is the stock picture

Sweet...always wanted to build a kart (though more racing than offroad), but never had anywhere to ride it. :/

I've never seen one of these before - it looks great! I've been promising my son for a while that he can get some form of electric powered bike or scooter for a while now. Perhaps this might be a better move. Hmmm... Do you have a model number of the original bike? I might look on eBay...

Here is a link to a goped dealer that sell the gas version of the kart.

Also here is a picture of my other electric race kart I built earlier this year.

Youch! $1500? It's a pricey little bugger. But man, it sure does look like a great concept for an electric conversion.

BTW - how does the suspension work? I see that there's lots of possible suspension travel but I don't actually see any springs?

I have the controller set at 50% at the moment until my son gets better with his driving skills.
Cheers

Re: New kart project finished. Pictures. Goped TRQ Gone ...

thats one sweeet racing go kart. i want to model mine after that one. i have a few questions about your kart:
is it two wheel drive (live axle) which means on turns the wheels would slip? do you notice it?
how many amp hours are your batteries in relation to how many amps your motor is rated at?
is it worth buying a more expensive controller with more amps if (my) motor is rated at 2000 watts 36 volts? what controller would you recomend for less than $200 but enough so i accelerate fast and go maybe 30 mph.
lastly, where did you get all the mechanical parts for the steering, bearings, axle, etc.

thank you hope someone sees this.
