Removing Pedle First requirement

My micro bike has 3 wires (Black Red Blue) comming from a sensor near the peddles which only lets the power go if ur already peddling.

Im not sure how this circuit works?

Can I remove this unit and just connect two of the wires together to remove the 'peddle first' requirement?

Re: Removing Pedle First requirement

I don't think it will be that simple. Pedal first is handled in the controller.. the controller needs to see an input which shows you're pedaling. There has to be a sensor on the pedals that tells the controller you're pedaling. Without the correct input the controller will think you're not pedaling and refuse to do anything. It all depends on what signal the controller expects on that input.

BTW - My bicycle is not a pedal-first, and I sometimes just hit the throttle to take off. It just doesn't take off very well from a dead stop and I find its better to get started by pedaling first then hit the throttle.

Re: Removing Pedle First requirement

yes there is a small sensor pointing towards the cog on the pedal.
As theres 3 wires I was hoping two of them were a voltage from the controller and the third wire was the return to the controller which was activated on peddling.
My hope was that if I could just connect the voltage to this one it would work,
No one seems to know the set up for these sensors - nothing on google either

Update - there is a disc with 8 or so magnets laid into it which sits on the pedal crank and the little sensor points at those - so I guess its magnetic - still not sure what the three leads do tho??

Re: Removing Pedle First requirement

Ok if someone can help me understand throttle wires I reckon I can have a guess at this magnet sensor.

My hunch is the magnet moving sensor takes a volage from the battery (maybe the red and black wires) and sends a volatge down the blue wire if the magnets are sensed moving.

I think throttles work like this? they take a cicuit and send a voltage down a third wire as a signal.

Anyway if my hunch is right would i wire the red to the blue, or the black to the blue?

Appreciate any feedback even if its a bit of a guess?
