Mik, i cant see your video, i get a message saying its private.By the way why would my warranty end? Adjusting the throttle is not a major thing? Are you sure it would get voided?
When i check the level , turning the kill switch of etc.. etc.., it reads 43, i thought i read somewhere that someone had it in 42, maybe that is the little difference.
But if you say that it would void the warranty then i will ask the dealer to make sure.
here i send the pics of the new seat and its texture.

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

hi rady i have noticed that after riding for a wile that the hand grip is made of rubber and if you grip it too hard
what happens is where your thumb and first finger is that 1st's grips rubber grips mooves a fraction and is enuff to stop the nuetrel kiking in and therefore can bring in a little regen in
don't no if thats what is happing to you but what one could do is to grip the handel throttle and gentally pull away from scooter then it returens to where it should hope this helps .kev

Thanks Kev, but its something to do with the adjusting. I also feel that because when i was trying out the demo, i remember the acceleration was immediate and now i feel i have to turn the throttle too much for the acceleration to start.
I think the Barcelona Dealer will recieve a visit from a Vectrix specialist on friday, i am going to try to be there with my bike and ask him a few questions.

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

hi rady the picture of the vectrix getting a lift on a back of a truck is that one yours as the handel bares / hand grips have straps round them with normal scooters this kind of method in mooving a scooter would be normal
but with the vectrix scooter this is wrong as it pulls the grippes to the hilt and james them up agenst the bracket and think it can put the throttle out of sync and in the manual it sayes not to transport in this was thats why it has anker
pointes behind the front forkes two loopes and also the rear swing arm can be straped down but got to be carfull not to damage the break pipes have you tred to pull the rubber grip down a little and see how the throttle responce is ??
any probbes all you can do is ask your dealer what to do if not to shoure .kev
well just look at her shes spolt as my gal is out side all the time till we move and get a house with a garage carn't wait or should i say vectrix carn't wait
its below zero out side !!

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

Another minor point but not less inmportant to me is the feel and look of the OEM grips!!! I think they grip well but thats all.The looks are cheap rubber and the feel is yucky, specially in summer when i first tried them.
Well here is one of the first things i wanted to change and just did it half an hour ago while i was trying to at least know where was the adjusting trimming of the throttle.
These are the old ones, i managed to get them out without breaking them.

And these are the nice, CARBON touch, SILICON feel and MODERN looking NEW GRIPS!!!!!

The Vectrix warranty booklet handed out in Australia states:

"This Warranty will be void if any work or service is performed by any person other than a VAP on the following parts of the Bike: batteries, air plenum, motor controller, encoder, Interface Control Module (ICM),throttle, dashboard, CANbus, software, motor, gearbox, wiring harness, battery charger or on any other electrical or mechanical part."

Sorry about the video problem, it's due to some bug in youtube, I believe. It just shows the throttle squeaking and actually sticking.

This information may be used entirely at your own risk.

There is always a way if there is no other way!

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

Im not accelerating it too much but i am riding at 70-80km, i have rechrged it 3 times and now have 83km.(by the way in the quote before i had 8.5 km +2km=10.5km)
i am trying to look for the thread where i can learn how to adjust the throttle, because when i am riding and suddenly leave the throttle, the bike is in neutral, then slightly goes into re-gen and then back to neutral.
I think the re-gen position comes in with a very very slight movement of the throttle.

The same was happening to me. Even if I boot-ed up without holding the throttle, there were slight re-gens coming in in the neutral.
When the repair engineer came to repair the faulty fan in the air plenum, he also put the Vectrix on the computer diagnostics and noticed, that the throttle wasn't calibrated well. He dismantled the throttle handlebar and re-calibrated it and since then it was ok.

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

Ive driven today for the first time with the new grips and i havent had the problem of the re-gen again. Now i think Kev was right it was probably sticking.I still have to drive it abit more to make sure.

I have the reading of the throttle dancing between 42 and 43, so i suppose its fine, because when i press both handbrakes it stands still in 43.

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

vectrix throttle grip >>>>???? in my experiance the throttle grip always seems to ride up towards the leaver mount .thats the end that looks like a mushroom .
and it might be just a millimeter but theres not too much of a gap for the throttle to move its probbley at a guess two milimeters ?
when i ride the vectrix i always seem to grip the top end of the throttle as like to have my first finger and thumb at the mushroom end
but after each ride i have been noticing that gripes have been moving but on the avrige scooter it doesent matter too much. but with
the vectrix scooter what happens is you seem to loose freewheel motion and regen kickes in a fraction but its not too much of hastle .
what people mabeable to do is pull throttle rubber grip away slightley just so it has free movment and goes back to where it should.
be but my be vectrix need to look at this at some point and mybe appliy a little glue ?? but i have not looked into haw the throttle calibration works but as i say not been a probblem if and when it does .i may take it futher investagations
at the moment just trying to work out the most effitent way of riding the scooter as in my case freewheeling i try to do lots and regen when neddid and smooth throttle control
but only managing at the moment 40.6 twice thats with the red light coming on and scooter will not go above between 15/20 mph but
i don't want to harm the cells .
but the wether conditions have been not too good sleat /blizzards few hills
speeds aprox 33 mph to 42 mph . have fun riding rady man ..kev

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

you look after your scooter as it looks cosey near the radiator looks unusally garage as can see that you look high up and is that sea in the back ground
through the window . is the seat more comfey than 2008 model ? is it narrower too as i am only 5/8" tall and when i stop on vectrix i am on my tip toes legs akimbo.
but is great ride . kev

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

Yes, its a cosey corner, which was ment to be for a table and some tools and kit, but was never finalised and as i didnt want to leave the bike outside, i added a wall plug and now its the Vectrix corner.
No, its not the sea, out of the window. Its a mountain.

The seat is not actually lower, but as its narrower between the legs, it actually is easier to put both your feet down.
I think maybe you should look at the lower seat, its not all that lower, of what i can see in the accesories catalog.

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

I bought them in a shop of Motorbike accesories but i was checking out the prices on the web and i had this link :

http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product?PID=1609763&PID=1609763&Pr=p_Product.CATENTRY_ID%3A2009490&catalogId=...

Just copy and paste and youll get there(its a long link but it works), or if not just google search for HARRIS grips or HARRIS performance.
i have the model named FAZER, they have plenty to choose from.

I need to do the same thing. Grips just deteriorated and got all sticky. How did you remove the bar ends?

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

They just unscrew. Took a bit of effort to start them though. I had to cut the old handlebar covers off and I put on more traditional grips that won't get sticky, that was really gross.

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

That's exactly the state mine are in, sticky enough to transfer sticky grip to my hand, yuck. Ok, I am assuming, just counter clock to un-screw them off?

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

Had to use some channel lock pliers and a rag to twist mine off counter clockwise. Cut the old grips off and actually had to scrape a lot of it off the handlebar as it was gooey. Cleaned it all up and used rubber cement so the new grips can't twist. Thanks for the help.

Re: Finally my Vectrix is on the way!!!

It may depend on which grips you use to replace the originals, but I didn't need to scrape the old ones off and I slid the new ones on with soapy water and when they dried there was no way they were gonna move.
