AAA battery holder

I am needing a 12 cell AAA battery holder with either 2 wire power leads or 2 solder type power terminials. Preferably enclosed. On or off switch is optional. Here is a 3 cell holder. I can find one anywhere http://www.pololu.com/picture/view/0J1053

Thanks

Re: AAA battery holder

The picture you show is AA size, but you write AAA. Do you mean the smallest ones or more common AA's?
you can get 6,8 and 10 AA holders from Maplins. Can easily put two 6's in series to make 12.

What do u need it for? There may be some better options?

Re: AAA battery holder

How about using two 9-volt batteries?

Re: AAA battery holder

Thanks for your reply.
I'm using AAA batteries. Sorry I used a AA example, but the holder is the same (1x12 cell aaa or 2x6 cell aaa holder). That's part of the problem. The 12 AAA battery pack is carried on a persons body and therefore weight is a consideration. Due to certain conditions I need to be able to charge the AAA batteries individualy, thus I need a battery pack (12 cell holder) that allows for removal of the individual AAA batteries for charging. 2 six cell holders would work but I can't find any six or twelve cell holders using AAA batteries similar to the (3)AA holder I used as an example. Lithium is too expensive for my mass production.

After your post about a AA holder, I checked maplins but nothing on a 12 cell or 6 cell holder for AAA.

I really appreciate your help!

Thanks, Dave

Re: AAA battery holder

Thanks for your reply.

The system I use drives a 12V motor which draws about 1.5V. In addition it powers a 12V receiver that draws about 25 MaH and the 2x9V won't work.

I really appreciate your response!

Many thanks, Dave

Re: AAA battery holder

At Radio Shack a search for "battery holder"m
shows 1, 2, 3, and 4-cell AAA and AA holders.
Use three of the 4-packs?

Your 12v motor draws 1.5 amps (not volts)?
The receiver draws 25 milli-amps (not mAh)?

A GPS receiver?
The motor does what?

Re: AAA battery holder

Thanks Gary,

Boy, I'm not only not getting a photo right I can't seem to get the terminology right either.LOL. Your corrections are right.

The battery back is used to power a small 12v fluid pump and receiver. The pump runs for about 5 seconds every 5 minutes or so, with a total run time of 6 to 8 hours between charges. The receiver is constantly drawing current during the 6 to 8 hours of operation. I've tried the cases you are talking about, but due to vibration and other factors of the application, securing 3 cases together without looking "cheezy", and additional wiring, are too time consuming for the production rate I need.

I appreciate your questions and answers.

Re: AAA battery holder

About 400 mAh for 8 hours.
25 mA for the receiver and another 1500 / 60 = 25 mA (average) for the motor.

How will the cells be carried, on a belt? If so, the 1x3 packs with wire leads might be ideal?

You might find a 2x2 pack with removable batteries, or even a 3x2 pack, but not likely to find a 1x12 with removable cells.

Apparently your quantity is not high enough to have a pack custom made. However some makers of enclosures (which are hand-held in size), have inserts that they can put into their standard molds to "form" the internal features that one might want, like a n-cell battery compartment. With four 3-cell inserts to make 4 battery compartments, you might get what you want.
