Hello Vectrixdrivers,
as a 3th grade student in Autotechnologies, I'm writing a thesis about the Vectrix.
Eventhough I've received a lot of information from an importer, I still need to know more
about the brushless DC motor.
Is there anyone of you who knows more than the general specifications say?
Maybe there's someone who has opened his one, to see what's going on?
What my promotor and the accessors expect is that I'll be able to know everything
about the motor and the controller.
There already is a lot to find on the web, but only until a certain limit,
so if there's anyone who can help,
please be my guest!
Best regards,
Nils Hooftman

Hi Nils,
For more info on the Vectrix motor you might try contacting the motor manufacturer directly:
Parker's URL: http://www.parkermotion.com/
Newsletter about their Vectrix involvement: ftp://www.parkermotion.com/bbs/newsletter/AW0807/VectrixPDArticle.pdf
Good luck with your Thesis - any chance you might publish it here when you're done?
All the best.

im guessing buying a vectrix and pulling it to bits is out of the question?
you might also want to document its design flaws, and best fixes, both at production level and in the field.
why pick the vectrix? is that the instruction you have recieved from your lecturer?
you could buy an emax, or some other scooter with decent brakes and learn what is required to increase the power and top speed?
at least with those scooters, nothing is proprietry.
you could also design a bike conversion from scratch?
you can get 13" 6kw continuous hub motors and 48kw peak controllers now.

To John and Matt: thank you for the quick response!
As you have said, John, I've contacted some people to obtain some more information.
I think the website from Parker could be very interesting, but only if I would know the type-number
of these kind of engines.
Is there anyone who knows this number?
To John: I don't know if I'm allowed by Vectrix to publish my thesis online, because it contains a lot of dealerinformation, which I had to keep secret.
Nevertheless, I shall try to do so, but you'll have to wait until June...
Best regards,
Nils

Maybe this can help you.

Can anyone of you guys tell me why there are 2 CAN-busses? (I know that 1 bus has two wires for the complentairy signal, so parasite-signals couldn't interrupt the systems communication)
Thanks!
