The green color was suggested a month ago during the trial run upgrade to drupal 6. I'd wanted to keep the other color scheme but this one is pretty decent as well, and green has been associated with clean vehicles and clean technology so it make some sense. Whatever, it's a color, and a pretty decent color.
well i am all for that but i find now the green totally bad for reading purposes. futher more i have dyslexia .an finding the site hadr to read and before was not any probblems as such
theres a saying if it isnt broken dont fix it .. kev
I am "chromatically challenged". Moderately color-blind to red/green. I must admit that high-contrast text is best for me. The black is easier for me to read than the green.
Help me out here, please. It seems from what y'all said that increasing the contrast would help (for the record the color combination was bothering my eyes as well). So I made the green darker and modified the background colors. Is this going to work?
hi david i think that more contrast the beter ..
and notice when scrolling down pages the righthand side part .under active forum topics
insted of bulit points or as well as each topic gets its own segrigated box as find it seems to morf all into one if that makes any sence??
also you no what the green thin am all for but i have two ev scooters total vectrix is silver i think the best coulor and my emax is blue granted
i wanted green for the green credentials if you no what i mean. but the girlfreand said it was a terrible shade of green !!
well on the internet at least .so we opted for blue e-max110s and im glad i did .
what i was gona say some one just put copy of the old site page it gave me a great idea you might want to be fair on others thats if anbody didnt like the way the old
web page was 1 go back to how the last configaration and finley tune a few small items.????
i/e move things around .
2 do a blog on a few copys and diffrent configarations and give it a week or so and the all diffrent pages that you put up will get hits
and a points sceem is up and running .good luck kev
ps old blue letterin was good.
Titles being bold are a good darkness of green. The other smaller green text cold be darker, for better reading contrast.
But, looks nice.
The old version (2 versions back) would accept large file sizes, with high-resolution pictures and convert them to suitable resolution and file size.
Now (and on the just-previous version) one must get the files "small" before the upload will accept them. So, now one has to pre-process all the pictures, which is rather time-consuming. Is the old upload still available?
Cheers, Gary

Yes, the darker green title links are easier for me to read than the regular links.
Regarding the SIDEBAR:
Perhaps a darker green text (same as title links?), and lighter green background (or both?). Overall it looks good. I think by the time anyone comes to this site, they are pretty much already sold on the whole "green" concept, so maybe color doesn't matter so much. Why did "they" pick green anyway. Earth looks blue from space. There's more blue sky and water than green grass and dandelion leaves.
David, thanks for all you do to keep this forum running for us!
Better now for me. Green is the color I'm slightly color blind in, so the sidebar was hard to read. Any text in a larger font is easier too, Of course I could get off my butt, and get some new glasses.

If you click on the image button in the toolbar above the edit area, or click on the "insert image" link below the edit area, the old (IMCE based) upload mechanism is there. It works real nice. And it resizes images, so far as I can tell.
When we last discussed this, I had added an overline and underline to links. After living with it for awhile the two seemed overly harsh. I think the underline may be required for links because of the dark green but I have changed the behavior so that when the mouse is over a link instead of adding an overline it's to change the background to light green. It seems to be less harsh. Thoughts?

I also have some trouble with green, so more contrast would help. But I can live with it as is.

I can still read V and reply on my pocketsurfer, both in the dark and in sunlight with trans-reflective screen.
But the green does make it harder.

I've made the green darker several times... Is the green of a title link better than the green of a regular link?
It can still be a darker green and still be green.
How about the background of the sidebar?

Looks like the avitars are back...
Is there an option to show how many times a topic has been "fetched" (sort of like times read, or an "interest" indicator)?

The green is now dark enough to almost be black. It's about as dark as it can be and still be 'green' and the result looks pretty nice.
However the green on links and no underlines meant that links merged with the text around them.
I added underlines and made it so mouse-overs cause a response. That should make it easier to see/find links.
Everybody happy? ;-)
