I'm considering the XB-508 or the X-treme XB-600. Since the POWER is the same for both, what advantage is there to purchase the X-treme XB-600 for nearly $200 more?

The motor in the 600 is 600w and the 508 is 550 watt. Also the 600 comes with 20 amp hour batteries and the 508 is only 12ah. This will give you a significant difference in the range. Go for the 600.
Also.... with the xb-600 there are several easy mods you can do to improve performance.
The existing controller etc can be used and u can add a 5th battery with only needing to get a new charger.
You can also do the "shunt mod" to it to improve acceleration etc. up hills. So for the cost of a new battery and charger and little time. it can easily be upgraded to run about 25-30 mph with better performance. If you keep it around 20mph it will increase your range.
hope this helps.

I currently have an X-Treme X-360 electric scooter. After nearly 3 years it still runs fine. I was looking to upgrade however; the X-360 I currently have and the XB-600 (which cost considerably more) are both rated at "up to 20 mph". I can easily do 18 mph (most likely slowed down a bit due to 3 yrs of battery use) on my little X-360.
I'm also curious about the pedal use on the XB-600. If you ran out of battery power and decided to start pedaling, would that be much harder than pedaling a standard bicycle?
Yes, the pedaling on an xb-600 is NOT fun at all. As I stated, the main difference with the XB-600 is the ability to easily upgrade it with a 5th battery and the "shunt mod" to improve performance. If all you want is the 20mph etc. a lower cost ebike is fine.

I tried to pedal my XB-600 once. Did it for fun....NEVER AGAIN. The pedals came in handy when I got pulled over and talked my way out of a tickets, but if the cop wanted a demo of the pedals, there is no way I could have done it. They are too far apart and in an awkward location. I hope I am never in a situation to need the pedals. With that said, I love my scooter, one of my favorite toys!
