Can anyone please tell me what the MCO says for either an Xtreme XM-5000li, 3500li, 3100, or 3000?
Does the MCO state the the vehicle is a "moped", "motorcycle", "scooter", "motor driven cycle", etc?
Exactly what does it say?
Thanks

I thought that I posted the MCO informatin for my 5000Li, but I cannot locate that post now. When I get a chance I will post all the informaton here.
Not moped, and not motorcycle, but "motor driven cycle" as I recall.
Maker "API", and 1.9 hp (which I suspect is not actually correct, since 5000 watts should be more like 6 hp). And, I think it said that the power source was Electric.

Too bad. Motor driven cycle unfortunately won't help me. I guess this ends my quest for an XM-5000Li or an EVD.
Why?
What would help?
In CA, after inspecting my 5000li, the DMV registered it as a "motorcycle" with an "MS" (presumably Motor Scooter) body type, and no apparent limits.

The 3500Li also lists as a "motor driven cycle". The bigger question, though, is why is that a problem?

Maybe "onion" wants to ride, but not be required to register?
Basically, anything powered that can go over 20 (perhaps to 35 in some places) mph is required to register (at least one state, Nevada, with some exceptions), and the "driver" needs an appropriate license.
And, taking the national Motorcycle Safety Training course is STRONGLY advised ... if you value your own life at more than $250.

If it's titled as "motor driven cycle" then I'd need a motorcycle license and it would have to be inspected every year. More importantly though, X-treme/Alpha is not an approved motorcycle manufacturer in my state so I'm out of luck.
What state?
Might be listed as "API" or "Alpha Products International".
If not listed, API could (and should) fix that.
If that is a real problem, I well help to get it fixed.
All motorcycles there are inspected every year?
Or, just re-registered?

Texas has a similar process. Annual inspection for cars and motorcycles is $18, while annual plates are $30. But $30 is much better than $80.
While the MCO listed motor driven cycle, the state registered the bike as a motorcycle with no restrictions.
Alpha Products International has a VIN prefix issued by the Federal Government - that opens the door to all 50 states. You may not want to register a motorcycle, but I'd be very surprised if any state could arbitrarily choose to not recognize a Federally-registered manufacturer.
