60 volts and lightbulbs, where to find replacements?

I have a liberty town and country which looks just like the XB-600. My brake light burned out. Does anyone know where to order replacements? The x-treme site doesn't seem to carry them.

Also I just ordered 5 new batteries and plan on upgrading to 60v. The bulbs in my bike are rated at 55v. I imagine the bulbs will burn out as soon as I turn them on. Is there anywhere to buy replacement bulbs that can handle the higher voltage without replacing all of the sockets? Can anyone tell me if they have problems with the bulbs burning out once they upped the voltage?

Also is it imperative to do the shunt mod? Will I still get the same top speed without it? Is the controller more likely to fry without the mod? I also imagine this mod will decrease your range seeing as the bike will draw more power. Can anyone give me an approximate range with 60v and a shunt mod or without the mod?

The only thing I could find in the bike is the controller. Maybe the converter is built in? I haven't noticed that many people have installed a dc dc converter with this mod. Is it necessary?

Are the bulbs really 55 volts? That is unusual. Most bikes use 12 volt lighting and accessories. A DC-DC converter is used to obtain the 12 volts from the 48 or higher voltage battery pack.

if they truly are 55V you could always wire in a resistor to drop the voltage going to the lights.....

Dont take a chance, replace your light bulbs with 12V (you can even use LED) and a DC-DC 12V converter available here outolunchcruisin [at] gmail.com .The converter does not need fuses and protects against a short to protect the batteries. can be used on any voltage up to 75VDC with a regulated 9amp 12V output. I have installed many of these on the XB-700li which uses 48V bulbs, replacing with 12V.

It's weird that your brand doesn't even include one. On every other XB-600 the DC-DC converter is in the center console and has a three-pin plug. The wire colors are red, black, and yellow.

Hey Crusin do you have a website or part numbers? The link you atached is an email addy. I have the XB700Li that needs the lamp conversion. Any tips or gotchas a person needs to know?

Thanks.Thom
