I've been riding a Daymak Austin for about a month now, and lurking around these forums looking for mods to make is go faster..
Just thought i'd let any other Daymak Austin Owners know that the bike is indeed nearly identical to the xb-600 with a few modification.
The motor is only 500watts, this is the law in Canada, so the xb-600 had it's motor swapped out to make it legal in canada.
The controller seems to be identical to the sb-600. I'll be doing a shunt mod on mine shortly.
Daymak sells the bike with an extra battery under the seat, which also has a toggle switch under the seat between the floor seat battery. which will make the 60v mod a little different.
I'll be updating this as i mod my bike..

Here's the inside of the controller on the Daymak Austin... i'm not sure where to put the shunt mod! the controller looks a bit different than others i've seen
The shunt goes across the two bare thick jumper wires in the photo, that is the shunt resistor.

I'm hoping to find a higher powered motor for this thing.... even though i'll be bending the law a little in canada.
My ping battery arrived today,thought it might have some instructions, no such luck. I ordered almost 2 months ago! I opted to only order a 10ah battery to put under the seat to kind of test it out, figuring if I like it, just order another one and make it 20ah.
I've been googling a fair bit, but seem to be unable to come up with a clear answer regarding ping batteries
I'm guessing the extra red wires are if i wanted to bypass the bms ?
weird, the ping batteries I've bought included a sheet of paper w/ wiring diagram, and the wires had tags on them.
One pair is for discharge .. the other pair is for discharge.
But.. on the ones I have there are three wires, + for charging, + for discharge, and a common negative.

(the blue is thinner gauge, so i just took an educated guess)
Everything is all wired up, and charging/balancing now, looking forward to seeing how it works tomorrow!
I've had my ping 10ah LiFePO4 battery out for a few rides now, I'm absolutely blown away how much power this little battery has! my previous 12ah sla pack was almost 3 times the size and weighed a ton and did not go as far! I was worries buying such a small (48v10ah) battery that I would have problems with cutoff, but so far no problems with the bike or battery going into cutoff / protection mode. My bike is only 500w and i have a 2.3inch shunt of rg6 cable in my controller.
My ping battery is wired as a secondary battery under the seat of my bike.
This past weekend my girlfriend and I (combined weight 400lbs) went a little over 10 miles (16km) through the streets of downtown Toronto, before we ran out of juice on the ping battery. in 3 hours the battery fully was charged again.
I'd like to replace all my sla with ping sometime in the next year, based on my experiences so far with my little 10ah ping LiFePO4, if i can find room on the bike i'd like to put around 40-60 ah of ping on this it.
Too bad ping does not make a 12volt.. i'd really like to try my bike at 60v.
