No answers from electricmotorsport.com after ordering and paying

Hi everyone

Last week I ordered and paid a motor and controller from electricmotorsport.com to install in my sailboat, my first EV conversion :)

What bothers me is that I have not heard anything from EMS.com since then. They stopped answering my e-mails, and it feels a bit unpleasant to have sent a considerable amount of money of without even knowing if I sent them to the right recipient.

What is your experiences with EMS.com? Do they normally not answer e-mails and confirm orders? Should I get worried?

I've known them a long time (since 2002?) and have a high opinion of them. They have multiple people on staff nowadays etc.

A consideration is they have two motorcycles entered in the TTXGP race, the race is approx 15 days away, and they would be doing final work, packing the motorcycles for shipping to Europe, getting ready to go to Europe, etc, right now. Maybe just maybe they're a little busy with that even though it's not a proper excuse. I have no idea if that's the case, I'm just guessing.

They are legit. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Have you tried calling them ?

Ok. Thanks for the answers. Nice to hear that you generally find them thrustworthy. That was my impression too, and the reason I chose to order the parts from them.

I think you may be right that they are busy at the moment. Maybe I should try to call them tonight, when the working day starts over there (I live in Denmark).

Do you normally get tracking numbers from them, when they ship your orders?

I don't remember and actually most of the stuff I've bought from them, I drove over to pick it up in person ;-)

Hehe - well... that's not exactly a possibility for me at the moment :). I would love to see their store, though. There are not really any shops with that kind of cool stuff here in Denmark.

I finally heard from them today.

Some of the parts I ordered is on backorder, so I will have to wait another week before they can ship the things.

I can hardly wait to get my hands on all the nice stuff! :)

Niels V... I am quite sure that you have posted the wrong link with EMS.com- Eastern Mountain Sports. I'm not really certain about the financial condition or business composition of Electric Motor Sport; but they appear to be weathering the US recession. Forbes, a business publication, recently published an article/promo for EMS entitled "Electric Motorcycles Gain Traction". I don't think that you can get this kind of promotion in Forbes Magazine, without some financial stability as a responsible business.

My take on it is that you may have been contacting the wrong EMS. Perhaps the EMS, Eastern Mountain Sports (which has been a stable business for over 75 years)has somehow received your emails and money. Let me know. Perhaps I can assist you further.
