Can I use any throttle I see on ebay for my 36 volt 800 watt motor and controller? Would this work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260430582005&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&salenotsupported
Or do I need a specific throttle meant for 36 voltage? Thanks
There are basically two types of throttles: Hall-effect and Resistance (or "pot"). The ones pictured in the link are hall-effect. I would be very careful about buying a throttle that had hairline cracks in the plastic housing, however. The impact from being thrown over the fence could have also damaged internal components.
The type you need will be dependent on what type your controller can accept. It is not dependent on the voltage of the motor or controller, except for hall-effect throttles that have "diagnostic" LED's. You will need to match the voltage of the throttle with the battery voltage in that case.
Can you tell us the make and model of your controller?
this is the controller i am using. http://www.monsterscooterparts.com/36vocove1.html Will those throttles work for this one?
Yes, that controller specifically says it uses a hall throttle:
