I'm new here, I hope I'm posting in the right forum.
I'm looking for pointers from people that have used LIFEPO4 batteries for electric bikes that consume 1000w of power or greater. I want to power a 36v phoenix cruiser/ crystalyte 5304. This motor is rated at 1440 watts or so. The commute is 14 miles with several good hills. Would be nice if if the pack is light enough to dismount and carry (30 lbs or so). Any suggestions ?

My observation is the duct tape batteries won't work for that motor because they don't support enough current capacity. There are newer cells coming available with higher current capacities. Look for those.

I have two of these systems running at 48V, both with Ping batteries. They are usually available on Ebay. Search for !Ping
Both are running flawlessly and my wife and I have accumulated a couple of thousand miles on them.
What size are the ping batteries you have?
What's the rated discharge rate? What's the typical amp draw in your riding?
Are you having to take care on the throttle to avoid the BMS cutting out?
Is your terrain flat or hilly?
What is the airspeed of an unladen swallow?

Both my packs are 48v, 20ah. The rated discharge rate is 20A continuous and 40A peak. My Crystalite controller has a peak current output of about 40A and the BMS has never cut out on me. My terrain is quite hilly and the bike climbs all the hills with ease. My range at bike speeds is over 40 miles. I probably have over 100 cycles on each pack.
Before I acquired the Ping packs I used YESA packs and had no end of trouble with failing cells.
