Motor mock up

Here's a couple of pictures of the frame without the ICE, and a mock up of the sepex motor. It's a little close to the back brake, but I never use that anyway. :D

You should plan the layout to allow use of ALL brakes, for safety! It is apparent that without the original motor, lower frame members will need to be fabricated to restore mechanical/structural integrity once provided by the motor, which is now missing! Failure to do so will result in a hazardous condition, with early frame failure, and likely loss of control! Be safe, and good luck!--Bob Curry

Now are you going to mock up 75 to a 100 little round cells? That alone should make you want to do large format prismatic cells ;-)
For the brake pedal it looks like a solution would be to simply extend the splined shaft that it connects to so it comes out further? On my CB conversion (long since dormant) I was going to just heat and bend the pedal out. But I have a BHSP while you have an LBAP. (Big honking steel pedal vs. little bitty alloy pedal).

Bob, you worry too much. I used to have a GPz600 I rode daily with no back brake. :D I wasn't kidding when I said I don't use the back brake. I'm pretty sure it will need to be operational to get it road legal though, and I think there will be enough clearance when the motor is finally installed.
As for the frame, that is a concern. I'm probably going to add some gussets around that top bend rather than lower frame members, as suggested on another forum. Although there are people who haven't done anything and haven't experienced any problems, (yet). I'm just not that confident.

I kind of assumed that you'd make the battery box become a part of the frame?

I've thought of that, and I probably will to some extent, especially since it will have to be held in securely. I don't know how much that would go to strengthen the frame though, unless I specifically design it to do so. I've got a few ideas rattling around my head and we'll see what happens. I've still got to decide on what batteries I'm going to use!
Here's a couple of pictures of the motor mount. It's a direct drop in replacement for the ICE using the existing frame mounts and bolts!
