hey there all!
i'm still a noob, embarking on an ebike project. and just received my cyclone 500w motor and batteries and also ordered a cycle analyst. i want to wire some connectors to the cycle analyst so its easy to connect/disconnect from my batts and motor. anyone know what these connectors are called and where i might be able to buy them online?

Sorry I don't know what type of connector you have there but they don't look like they can carry much current. If it were me I would replace them with Sermos connectors. Sermos (or Anderson Power Poles) are capable of handling lots of power and they slide together easily.
Here is what they look like.
I have been using these connectors on battery operated devices for over 20 years and never had a failure.

hey there chas, thanks for the response and the advice! it makes sense to just replace the connectors with something more popular and tested. i found the sermos connectors on amazon.com too. would the 45A be the one for me? sorry, but i'm clueless (but wanting to learn) about how many amps the connectors need to support - the battery i will be using a 17 Ahr battery with a 500W motor.
also, do you crimp or solder the connectors?

I would use the 45 amp versions then if you make a change to a larger motor you don't have to worry about the connector being able to handle the power. I have seen my ebike pull 25 amps at 36 volts which is 900 watts and they don't even get warm. I always like to use one step up on components when possible then I know they will be reliable.

You crimp them.. though I see some people say they crimp and solder both.

I always solder, it's a much better electrical connection. A crimp can be a place for heat to build up if it is not done right. I solder better than I crimp.
