Vectrix battery charged
Submitted by DovG on Sun, 11/08/2009 - 19:32
Battery has been fully charged. It took 6 hours for the charging process to be completed for a fully depleted battery. I have since ridden and charged the battery 3 times, however, did not ride down to the battery's red light but to about 1/3 charge left. Range has improved since the first ride a week ago, from 50km actual to estimated 65km. Speeds range from 50km/h to 80km/h, mostly at 70km/h, (70%).

Re: Vectrix battery charged - Super topping
Hi,
I've just wanted to post this a few weeks ago. Since I think this does not deserve a new topic, I'd rather prefered to jump into an existing one.
In order to better explain, I need first to tell you that I live in a building - 3rd floor - and I made a charging point downstairs. I plug the VX in floor 0, run to my place and switch on the plug. Since I disconnect it before I go back downstairs after charging (generally the next morning), I cannot be completely sure about the charging status. Anyway, since it is plugged almost al the night long (including delay), the batteries are always full, nevertheless if the charging finished or not.
Anyway, last three weeks I did the following:
After a long enough charging session (and even running downstairs to check the VX is silent after finishing the charging, and the temp is low enough), I switched on the plug again, but about less than an hour or so.
The result? MUCH BETTER range and lower battery 'lines' decresion rate.
In other words, I usually run about 50 kmts (about 32 miles) and almost 60 kmts (38 miles) without 'super topping'.
Now I run always 60 kmts (38 miles) running more agressively and I also rise the average speed from 70 km/h (43 mph) to 80 km/h (50 mph).
Battery status lines hold about 4-5 kmt instead 3-4 before.
I also checked the battery temperature rises from non to about 1C when adding this extra charge.
I'd like to know your opinion about this.
Thanks
Claudio
Re: Super- topping
I didn't wanted to open a new topic regarding this, but looks like this post was hidden so I posting again. Sorry for the duplication if I'm breaking any forum's rule.

When I come back home, I plug the VX in floor 0, run to my place and switch on the plug for charging (2 or 3 times a week as needed).
