I got this email from Aptera this afternoon (11-30-09). It was in response to an email question that I sent, but didn't address my question - I'm sure it was a mass-emailing:
Hello David,
We apologize for the late reply. Given the recent amount of press, we have received a massive amount of emails and are responding as quickly as possible.
Over the past year, the Aptera team has been working aggressively to improve our vehicle. We have made more than 100 safety, comfort and technology enhancements that will make your Aptera your favorite vehicle to own. Our goal has been to deliver the NEW Aptera by the close of 2009.
This aggressive strategy increased our financial burn rate. To counter this increased spending, we imposed a stringent timetable on our fundraising efforts that required us to close our final round of fundraising by the first of November. Unfortunately, we missed our date. We are close to the close but it will likely take us into the new year. For this reason, we have decided to slow down.
To reduce our spending, we have trimmed our support teams and moved all money to engineering. The teams focus has been narrowed to completing our fundraising and pushing the first production intent Aptera out the door in the beginning of 2010.
Thanks again for your support!

Not sure, but I think I posted this in the wrong area - was trying to post it in the electric car/truck category, but accidentally posted it in 'Vectrix'...
I'm not sure about the accuracy of the header, either.....
Sounds more like bad news about final stages than "finally good news" to me!
