Hi, I just purchased an xm3500li and everything is great but when I ride it, the power/motor occasionally cuts off. I have no idea what the problem is. Any help????

Note that there are several interlocks (power cutoff switches) installed on the bike. For example if you are cruising along with the throttle open at a certain speed, and touch either of the handbrakes, the brake interlock switch will cut power to the motor. You can see this is occurring because the diagnostic light on the dash will also be illuminated. Other interlocks are for the kickstand, motor overtemp, and controller overtemp.
Hi again, I don't think I was clear enough before, but the strange thing is that the power will cut off even if I don't touch the brake. I've contacted the manufacurer but basically what happens is I'll open the throttle a bit to gain speed, and then let it go a little bit to cruise. Then, sometimes, when I open the throttle again (without touching the brake or anything) the power is cut and I have to restart the scooter.

This may be due to a poorly charged battery, loose/corroded connection, or defective battery. Testing should be done to localize the trouble. Much more current is demanded during accelleration or hill climbing, and poor connections or bad batteries may result in the voltage dropping low enough to activate the "Low voltage cutoff" When troubleshooting an electric vehicle, remove all metal jewelry-watches, rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. Also be aware that poor connections tend to get very HOT in use, so take precautions not to get burned or shocked.-Bob

I had the same problem with mine after a year and a half's use. I discovered that one battery was dead, and this drops the voltage below the normal cutoff range, when you accelerate. After 10-15 seconds, the controller typically resets. This is for the electrical protection of the high voltage circuits. I'd check your individual battery cells.
