$279 Mongoose ebike back in stock at Walmart

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5391437

$279 delivered for an ebike is awfully cheap. There are two (out of two) negative reviews on the Walmart site. Do any of the Mongoose-owning members of the forum have updates on their experiences?

`Cryptoman,
Welcome to our V is for Voltage Community, and thanks for the heads up.
I really like the Mongoose as a starter E Bike, that may have some good potential. The price is very reasonable, availability is very good. We really need to get some additional feedback from members who have them.

Peace Out,
Gman

Just when I get ready to order one, it's out of stock again. :(

Re: $279 Mongoose ebike back in stock at Walmart

ok here is my review....

i've had this bike for about 3 weeks.
overall i'm satisfied with the $300 bike.
i live in flat florida...

some bad things about the bike:
it's heavy
it's a litte aukward...the shape is different than what i'm use to.
the grips are too small and close to the shifter and throttle.
the freewheel has a little drag, but not really noticable.
the battery box rattles when riding over bumps.
the chain scrapes the battery box if you use the largest back gear.
if you need to remove battery...you must remove the seat.

reasons i am satisfied:
it pulls me 17-19mph with easy pedaling...don't expect to go faster unless you want a workout, or you can try changing the motor or gearing.
it was only $300.
it goes without pedaling.

walmart is the worst part of buying the bike.
i had to call the 800 number after 2 1/2 weeks to see what was up with my order.
i ordered site to store, the csr said it was deliver but they didn't scan it, so she called the store and was on hold for 40 mins. i had to call the store manager before i got the email to pickup. make sure you open and inspect at the store, i didn't and mine had a cracked throttle and 1 broken spoke.

as far as the battery i can't really comment that much, i pedal with the motor and coast frequently. 11 miles is about as far as i have gone, so 20-25 miles with some pedaling seems reasonable.

i would like to experiment with different sprockets if i can find some, but i am glad it is faster than the stated 15mph. i think if you don't pedal it would still go over 15mph on the flat.

if anyone knows where i can get sprockets or motors that fit this bike let me know.
