Controller is Infineon 45a with regen set constant.

4 SLA's right now, got one LIPO4, saving for the other, not done quite yet. The Lipo4 boxes are CHROME!

//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2542.jpg)
Building an actual motorcycle type headlight and tailight with LED bulbs, still waiting on dealers! Dang people!
//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2554.jpg)
The new CA is even backlit! Gotta love that! I get off work at 11pm!
//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2552.jpg)
I like to build it strong! Looks dont keep ya safe at 30+mph!
//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2550.jpg)
Stopping is important, yes?
//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2549.jpg)

//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2548.jpg)
Salsa constrictor, Masterlock cuffs, and a little ingenuity to mount my wiring and other components house.
//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2547.jpg)
I bought two of the Amped bike torque arms, but put them both on the wire side, with double bolts on the coaster bracket. Im going to get two more for the free wheel side, but I dont have to rewire it to do that side, so Next month that will be an easy add on.
//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2546.jpg)
Better view of the dual torque arms.
//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2558.jpg)
I think i did pretty dang good job!

This bike is beautiful! Makes me want to go build one... :)

Great job and great pics.

BTW - what's in the box under the controller? (The one with the door knob on front)

Re: RAPTURE! by Dusty Donnay

All the boxes are ammo boxes. the big ones are 50 cal. smaller ones are 5.56mm

The box under the controller hold the wire connectors and a voltage drop box, converting 48v back down to 12v, not on the bike yet are a motorcycle type headlight with an H4 type bulb lens and a H4 Super Bright LED bulb, and motorcycle tail light with LED bulbs. This way my running batteries is all I have to charge and LED's use minimal juice! Best of both worlds.

Oh! The "Door knob" is a BOAT SWITCH. moister and corrosion resistant. It controls the motorcycle lights once theyre mounted.

Another little note, Got another part in the other day, Wheelguards from Oridon.

trying to keep that Mavic Crossride! LOL These are very nice! That outer ring spins freely and the other side is extremely tapered hardened high polished steel, Getting them off without the key is possible, but it will take alot of ingenuity, tools, and time! Its never left alone THAT long!

Re: RAPTURE! by Dusty Donnay

Very nice build.

Where on earth did you get chromed ammo boxes from? Or did you just get normal ammo boxes chromed yourself?

Neat idea ammo boxes for this application: tough, waterproof, cheap.

Re: RAPTURE! by Dusty Donnay

Thats funny question. The company I got the chrome ones from seems to have become another victim of a crashed out economy. It was http://ratedxoffroad.com/ I was going to put in the link, they were 49 bucks a pop and the deal went smooth as silk! New years here, I guesse my little bit of business couldnt keep them goin. Glad I got while the gitten what happenin! They are gonna look sweeeeeeeet! LOL

Darn, and I thought it was a mini-fridge. Just the right size for one cool beverage of your choice...

excellent!

If every EV was as funky as this one, people would surely reconsider before buying a petrol burner :-)

When can I order one?

Re: RAPTURE! by Dusty Donnay

I hadent originally considered being an ebike manufacturer, but everywhere I go I got people wanting one! Two other folks in as many days asking for a card to have me build them one the same! I too feel that this is a sweet design. And I didnt fab very much, mostly bolt together with the right pieces!

Today I put the headlight bucket on the front end to see what it looks like.
This is the mount, I had the bracket tig welded on to give the mounting lug a place to sit. That bracket was an old ink cap holder I didnt use anymore! PERFECT! LOL Looks like it belongs there.
//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2577.jpg)
Looks pretty good huh!
//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2578.jpg)
side view too.
//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2579.jpg)
This is my 12v Super Bright 18LED H4 bulb! They say these are NOT for headlights! For daytime running lights or fog lights. Duh, Thats good eneough for an eBike! On this build style..... oh yeah! Thats niiiiiiice!
//i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/dustydonnay/The%20Silver%20Surfer%20-%20RAPTURE/DSC_2580.jpg)
The folks who sold me the lens that connects that H4 bulb to the 5 3/4" housing screwed up my order, sent me a box with two 65 watt H4 bulbs! I dont want or even need bulbs! Waiting again for the part. Im excited about this headlight, The look, the birghtness, and the low current draw! Maybe tomarrow!

Well you deserve success - you've done a great job. I'd be interested in seeing your parts list / costs at some point (everything including the bike). I'm always interested in that side of things as well.

You're right - that headlight looks sweet and fits in well with the aesthetics. It's gonna be one cool machine...

One design thought for you: I expect you're going to mostly use EV power and not the pedals. So, what about either some foot pegs (forward mounted like highway pegs on a cruiser) or a quick and easy way of having both pedals be at the same position (rather than 180 degrees opposed) and use the pedals as the foot rests without having to have your legs in an awkward position. Just a thought.

Re: RAPTURE! by Dusty Donnay

Hi there. How did you get that wheel lock setup and from where. I went to the site but they only list France as where their products are available. Please help. I would really like some of those.

Thanks. Scott

That's a beautiful Bike ! aren't you going to lengthen the seat a bit tho to fit a SKINNY model type chick as a back ride?

Did you design that frame yourself? I like the longer space in between front and rear wheels, no suspension tho huh?

I'd say it again , you created a beautiful piece of electric driven machinery ! KUDOS to you Bro !

am a bit Envious , hehehe ! RIDE SAFE ! Paul

if it ain't Broke, don't Fix it..
