Zapino Controller

I think my controller has gone bad. I recently replaced my B&B batteries after 1.5 years of use because they got to a point where they would only go about 2 miles on a charge. The new batteries I purchased were working fine for the first three months of use. Recently, the zapino starts maxing out at 30mph after only 7 miles. I think this is because of my controller going bad. What do you think? Also, where can I buy one? How much are they? Thanks for your help

Re: Zapino Controller

Have you checked the voltage on your batteries? It might be the charger. Or one of the batteries may be bad. (it could be the controller, but i'd check these other things first).

How do I check the voltage? I was thinking of getting a paktrakr or watt's up. Would you recommend??

Re: Zapino Controller

ok. I installed a Watt's up meter. I am 95% sure te batteries are not bad after checking the voltage. I am quite sure it is the controller. When giving the scooter 'gas', it 'sputters'. It's like the electricity is getting intermittently cut off while flowing to the motor. Does this sound like a controller problem? Zap wants to charge me $550 for a controller, but Extreme has a controller for its zapino-similar scooter for $275. I am also looking into buying one direct from China off of Ali Baba.

So, can someone make me feel better and tell me my problem is definitely the controller?

Thanks,
Danyel

Re: Zapino Controller

I bought a XM-3100 controller to replace the Zapino controller. I was told the Xm-3100 controller would work on my Zapino. My question here is will it? Has anyone replaced their Zapino controllers with the xm-3100 controller or other types of controllers?

Re: Zapino Controller

I started to replace the zapino controller with the xm-3100 controller but the wiring is different. I thought they would be the same since the scooters are identical. I don't know what the colors mean can someone please help me? Does anyone have a diagram of the wiring of the controller in/out of the zapino/xm-3100 ??
