Re: ego scooter

If you want an EGO modified Deaf Scooter is a good man for the job.
He is a nice guy and really knows his #$$% when it comes to E-scooters.
The other option is to buy a XM-2000 or an Zapino http://www.zapworld.com/zapstore/detail.aspx?ID=389

Re: ego scooter

Hi,

I just bought an EGO scooter and was wondering what I can do to make it a little faster.
I a 54 year old male who's going back to grad school, and bought it to get back and forth. My trip is 7 miles each way. I'm a distance runner so I only weight 142 lbs. It really gets to speed fast and handles the hills around my area without a problem, I was hoping to get it at least to 30mph out of it. Any chance someone here can help me with ideas. I'd read on earlier posts that Deafscooter might be able to help?

Thank you

Re: ego scooter

It would appear that a motorized bicycle, with the addition of the right accessories (turn signals, rear view mirrors, lights and reflectors, horn, speedometer, possibly sufficient brakes, etc.) to make it a street-legal powered vehicle, would become a "custom" (home-built) moped.

But, just slap a motor onto a bicycle, stand-up scooter, etc. and it is only "legal" for off-road use in NYS.

But, apparently there is a BionX dealer in NYC.

If you up the "max" speed (over 20 mph in most places) and do not do the correct Inspections and Registrations, and have the corresponding Operator's Permit and Insurance, you can get some really nasty fines in most states. Nevada and NYS might be (near) the extremes.

Search the internet for "state DMV laws moped scooter operator", and find links to sites with info and links to the DMVs of most states.

Cheers, Gary
