simple enough. i have a belt driven scooter but dont see any 36v belt driven motors for an upgrade? any exist? or is is possible to change out the sprocket on the new 36v chain motor to sprocket?

What you need to know is the diameter of the shaft and a couple other characteristics of the shaft. You should be able to find chain sprockets which will fit the motor shaft. It will be trickier to find other sprockets to fit the wheel.
