New bike: what else do I need?

I bought a Qelectric Gelato off of craigslist. I replaced the dead batteries (this is a different story). It seems to run pretty well now. I plan to ride it work an back. What do I need in my trunk?

Outside of the trunk I have a helmet, multi-meter, and soldering tools (not all to be used at once). Is there anything else that is essential at home base?

Well, eventually you will need a garage and a machine shop in the garage with plasma cutter and welding equipment. That's eventual end result of getting into the innards of electric vehicles, is that you end up building your own. Machining Welding Adapter pics 9Electric .. grin... But, one step at a time.

The first step I'd recommend is wire cutters and crimp tools. Yeah, wire cutters are a good gateway drug to the more advanced stages of EV addiction. Good luck...

I'm a ways off from welding together my own vehicle. I just want to get to work. In my tool box are wire cutters and strippers. I've build computer cables. An electric car is likely in the future, but someone else will build it.

Luckily the bike came with locks and chains. Oddly enough the Gelato does not have an odometer.

What equipment should I carry for flat tires? The back wheel looks a little complicated to fiddle with on the side of the road.

Well, thats a good place to start, ....
1. Tire Levers of the proper grade to do the job.
2. Tire patch kit, some of the "no prep" patches are awesome
3. Electrical Tape, just in case you get a nicked wire.
4. Spare fuses!
5. Any tools needed to access the fuses.
6. Spare bulbs, for lights?
7. Charger, if you plan on testing your limits.
8. Cell phone, in case you have no place to plug in the charger.
9. Mace or pepper spray, in case a dog wants to play (or eat) while youi ride.
10. Basic First Aid kit, just in case.....
