What I'd like to have added in next firmware upgrade:
1. Red kill switch off and left brake pulled. Instead of left LCD showing, how long the precharge cooling delay is set at, I'd like to see how much time is left until EQ charging is to take place. Vectrix added manual sheet says, that EQ charge is taking place after 8 or 12 hours of riding (same sheet, two different numbers). If it's truly measuring the time of rider's riding, it can show how much time is left until next charge will trigger the EQ. Battery voltage and temperature reading should stay as they were.
2. Horn. As mentioned in the other thread, I want to horn without a short beep, a slight delay and then a strong beep. It's up to me to trigger a short or a long beep. I'd like to have that 'feature' removed and replaced by a standard horn.
Please list your own fiwmware requests you'd like to have added. Maybe someone at Vectrix is reading this.
I'd like ether the estimated range deleted or be able to be toggled with an instantaneous current reading. It would be a useful tool to help riders manage their power consumption on the road and develop an efficient riding style. The simplest range booster to fit to a stock vectrix I think.
Nice post!
I'd love to have voltage and temperature reading, also instantaneous current reading.
Selectable driving style (sport, eco, city (55 km/h)
Selectable charging mode (slow charge, fast charge, up to only 60%, up to 80%, 100% for long trips)
Automatic recharging during long storage periods.
...
Got one for the list. We need a spring-loaded hand brake-lock like some touring motorcycles I've had in the past. You pull in on the brake and set the pin, the bike stays put, when you grab the brake, it will release with no pressure holding it. This was the first thing I came upon, when I took her home from store. I went to park it in the drive, and noticed that it would not stay in its resting spot when others would come over to look, touching the bike,...(yes, touchingAAAAH!!!!) it would give a light scoot, which I reparked at a better angle. Still, we need a stationary brake, oh, and a "HAZARD SWITCH" too. I stopped for a moment to talk to my co-rider and wait for a friend to drive up. If I had HAZARDS to flash, all the other cars would have not been so crazy trying to pass.

1. Higher top speed - 110km/h would make sooooo much difference
2. Either current draw information or cell voltage whilst riding (range estimate is useless IMO)
3. Display information always on during charge cycles, together with a "charge complete" indication

Cruise control
Display instantaneous power consumption in ±kW
Reinstall the original indicator delay timer to maximum 10 seconds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
or atleast to be ajustable.!!!
And not 15 seconds the person who thought this has NO repeat NO motorcycle background
as this is sutch an important reminder that if the indecator is forgotton about / or you wait for the 15 seconds to elaps to rember to turn the forgotten indecator .
This mawell be to late car SMASHED INTOSIDE OF vectrix ?????
please change....
kev
10 second was to short time for me. As it is now, it's much better.
Lots of the features mentioned so far seem to be focused on the techy who wants to know more details and tune its bike. The Vectrix for me is a consumer good so features important to me would be:
- instantaneous horn
- Lights stay on (especially the one in the helmet compartment) for a little while after turning key off (show me home feature)
- handbreak
- display always on when charging
- pre-set of timers (left break and key) sets estimated charge ready time (not charge start delay)
But that's just dreaming owning a bike with no R&D support and legal access to firmware source code.
Rather then charge delay, let the bike cool the batts to ambient temp before starting the charging. This should be the default mode. With manual override for quick charging.
Idiot proof i think.
+1 for hazard lights, need it for driving through traffic jams.
Once you go EV, Gas is history!
Allow the rider to leave the MC fan and/or battery cooling fans ON. I want the controller and batteries to last as long as possible and I'm not concerned about a little noise.
Software upgrade?
Cool things to have:
1. programmable charger AH (like the "force 30Ah" but better)
2. +1 to Hazard lights, its so simple and needed...
3. +1 Ohhh, that horn.
4. on lever pull, automatic cycling of cell temp, not just the highest (i want to know how my batt is doing).
5. +1 to driving style - ability to change acceleration and top speed.
6. let me see the SOC with my IPHONE through BT.
7. +1 to KW/KWh/A/V display in realtime.
* i think the charger firmware it the worst (after ICM) and must have more batt technology support, output voltage selection and batt voltage/current sensors to stop charging when VOLTAGE or CURRENT comes to a thrashold to charge even if the charger thinks the batt is full.
In "Back To The Future II" There are flying cars in the year 2015. Its only 4 years from now! lets make it happen! or at least lets have MR. Fusion for our EVs...

Voltage IS the way to go.
So someone should create a formal document of an Upgrade Feature List that everyone can add to. (I have no clue how to do this on a forum)
Just a few comments on some suggestions:
- If you think the estimated range is a random number generator, then you dont want to see current or voltage or power displayed! Without heavy averaging the current is all over the place. With heavy averaging you have "estimated range".
- The Vectrix already has economy and sport modes. To change modes rotate the throttle.
Yeah!
I always wonder why people want to limit the power by software - as if you could not do that already!
Now, if the software could give me a "Dire emergency - don't care if the batteries get damaged"-mode, I would like that very much....(it would need to get activated at boot-up by entering a secret combination of R and L brake lever pulls, so that you friends, relatives and thieves cannot ruin your scoot....)
The momentary battery voltage would be very useful information for some people - like me! If you have spent hundreds of hours watching NiMH charge and discharge curves, that very adaptable BMS between your ears is going to make good us of this information!
What plug(s) do you need to pull out and what are the risks?
This information may be used entirely at your own risk.

"Skip all CP charge stages"
This would allow charging at "marginal" or definitively under-powered power supply points. Chances are those will be quite common!
Charging a stock VX-1 from a generator or a solar/wind/hydro-powered battery bank is sometimes VERY difficult due to the nasty behaviour of the charger: It ramps up the current very very steeply - and just when the supply source cannot meet the demand! How utterly inconsiderate and stupid!

Absolutely ! I watch this information and the battery temperature at almost every traffic light, it would be really a nice feature to have the ability to switch the display when I'm riding. By watching those informations very often, I'm getting used to normal behaviour, and I can detect more adequately any out of range data.
The other point is, of course, the (censured) horn ...

I vote for a flashing hazard lights option too.
Maybe pressing and holding the turn signal switch for 2 or maybe 3 seconds would activate them and reset the switch to centre to switch off hazards.
That would need a hardware change. The indicator switch closes the circuit physically when activated and it stays so. You can turn your Vectrix off with indicator lights blinking, and they will be on again even after a re-boot.

I need "that" voltage display very badly. My battery is dying at fast pace and the display gauge has become absolutely useless. Sometimes red light comes at mid bars, sometimes at 4-5 bars. I perfectly know what range I have under 130V, if only the V's system could learnt like humans. Yesterday I decided to check voltage and temps at 90 km/h (mid bars in the display). The battery was at 47 degrees and dangerously low voltgage. Immediately headed for home at low speed... I reached home with flashing battey and temp light... thanks to this lucky glimpse. My vectrix is no longer reliable. It's nearly death...
id like :
1. Voltage reading instead of estimated range
2. Fixed temperature reading
3. Trip "A" to autoreset itself after every boot, trip "B" leave it as it is
4. Faster way to turn off the headlights
5. after full charge equalization or whatever, the software should keep the fans (impellers) on as much time as needed untill the temp has reached 25º. (i dont know if my V does something wrong or if its normal, but after a full equalization or full recharge, when i walk up to it in the morning and check the temp its at around 30º and the impellers are not turned on but the Vectrix is plugged in. I have checked the ambient temp at that is normally at 24 or 25º, so its not that the air around is "hot".

Hi just to push this thread, and it is fitting better here, than in the 30.000km thread...
Greetings Mike
