On NPR's Morning Edition today they aired the following story, immediately following one about the IPO of some company whose name begins with 'T'. It's about how electric cars have been on the road for a long time irregardless of the efforts by car companies to keep them from existing. Hobbyists like us have been keeping electric vehicles alive so while it's way cool that companies are getting into the business of providing electric vehicles, it's also way cool that decades of people in their garages have kept building their own electric vehicles.

This is great. The electric car industry has and will continue to be around for years and will only get bigger. I have my own collection of electric cars. It just makes sense, to save $50 or more a month and promote clean energy because this world is getting dirtier and dirtier. Along side Electro Automotive is Electric Thrust, who also converts gas powered anything to electric using off the shelf parts. Accompanied with a video blog that shows the viewers at home that they too, and ANYBODY can do it. They're right. it's easy, it's do-able, and you don't have to be a mechanic to do it. Great post, thanks for sharing!
