When I first bought the bike I would occasionally get a low power jerky response from the bike just after recharging. The cure for this was to switch off wheel the bike forward a couple of inches then start again. This would cure the problem but might take a couple of goes.
It now seems to happen all the time and is getting worse. I may have to ride in jerky low power mode for 100m's before it self rectifies. Does anyone know what the problem is? Do the controllers make pulses for the motors which could be misaligned?
I have recently not bothered to use the controller isolation switch before recharging, due to massive sparks when the switch is thrown causing other starting malfunctions.
Its an erato thing of horrors.

First thing to do is to check the hall sensors. There are five little wires that come out of the rear wheel - red, black, blue, yellow & green. Trace these from the motor back towards the controller. You should find a plug somewhere along this path. First thing to do is to make sure all these connections are solid - unplug it and check that all the pins are correctly seated and then replug it. Use a multi-meter to check for continuity between the incoming and outgoing side of the plug (i.e. check that black in is connected to black out and then repeat for the other four colors).
After that test then you need to check the operation of the hall sensors. But I'll save that for a later post... (assuming you don't solve it by "wiggling the plug")

Okay finally worked this one out.
I was duely worried because the problem seemed to be worsening. However it only worsened in reality as I replaced the 63amp trip switch from a 63amp type d to a 63 amp type b. It seems to mini trip in pulses without fully tripping - or something - anyway it wouldn't let much power through until a little battery charge had been used up. The type d are specifically for motors and transformers.
It would have helped if I had originally deciphered the name of the easily misread fuse CHNT to chint. Thanks anyway for your suggestion.

Oh dear it is back to the way it was this morning - will get those hall sensors checked eventually, but as I have 60 hour weeks it is hard to find the time.
It seems to be an inherent problem with this bike - Erato cowboy model. The lithium pack is just a little too powerful for the electronics, especially when warm, I've managed to get around it the majority of the time by part charging.
