DIY electric motor in the 10kW range.

Hi all!

There is a book available with a detailed building instruction for a brushless axial flux motor at: http://www.amazingdiyprojects.com
There are also some inspirational videos etc on the site.
Enjoy!

Re: DIY electric motor in the 10kW range.

It says it's a 7kw motor.

The problem I have is that it's not really a BUILD but a conversion from another source, so you wind up with something not really built for the purpose and maybe not suitable. We probably wouldn't find a nonworking AC with that motor in there to extract, so we'd buy new. And for that you want $50. It doesn't seem to have the controller as part of the project, even.

What would REALLY be neat would be if someone had the project to REALLY build your own motor with a controller. And REALLY 10kw or more.

WHo dares, WINS!!!!

Hi,

Sorry, you have got it all wrong, please pay attention:

The motor is completely scratch built and is currently put to use in a motorcycle application in which it handles burst power during acceleration up to 20kW.
