would you feel you had been ripped-off if some shop sold you a 15 month old bionx kit as new

and the shop in question is supposed to be a high volume distributor of the products.

I understand the latest firmware is about v4.3 and that is quite recent, is that right (got the 'sindrive' mods?)

and the battery being 15 months old before I get it seems just totally unreasonable.

and traces of rust on the wheel bushes, and traces of rust on battery case nuts, looks ex demonstrator to me.

any views?

Of course you are being ripped off. Hope you used a credit card. Get an rma and return it. If they give you problems. Have the charges reversed for defective mechadise. Good luck, poe

Don't buy any futher away than you can drive to and return it.

Well, there is "New old stock" meaning it sat, in a box, and wasnt touched,, and then there is "dealer demo" which means it hasnt been sold but has been on display, and light road use for prospective buyers, and then there is "new" new, which means just that.... hot off the shelf, with recent ship info. If you are seeing rust, I would be very quick to voice my displeasure at this, especially if paying full price. Be polite about doing so, as you may need them for future support issues.

I purchased mine 2010-03. It was a 2009 model made 2009-09 and had the 3.8 firmware.
I just had my firmware upgraded to 4.5 and the difference is huge.
Much more smooth. No vibration. And the speed limit for assistance is now unlocked.
I still have assistance at 35 km/h.

thanks for comments.

looks like a great system, I think shop is taking the mickey being as how I am international customer and returning will be so difficult and costly.

Re: would you feel you had been ripped-off if some shop sold ...

shop came back with a reasonable discount (well, time will tell)

fitted kit, and its a really odd feeling cresting a hill and it getting harder to pedal. (reckon its a 'feature' rather than 'bug')

bit of a pulsing effect on this version of firmware I think. but notch not quite 6 o'clock... +- half an hour.

but, first impressions, with the throttle, great.
