hi i am new to the whole electric scooter thing and i just bought a thompson cs600s
it can go about 20 miles before the batteries die and i was just wondering if it would be possible to wire another set of batteries in parralel to extend the battery life.
would there be and complications with this?

Short answer is: Sure, you can parallel another pack for more AmpHour capacity and more range (or lower DOD which should extend the number of cycles). Needs to be the same voltage, of course.
You can wire it in full-time, or use switches to go from one pack to the other. The only "complication" I see is additional batteries to re-charge. (and the extra weight - which needs to be considered)
I'm not familiar with a thompson cs600s, but if it can go 20 miles on a charge, it's something I want to know more about. Do you have any pictures or links? How many batteries does it have now?
a pack at the same voltage can be paralleled, BUT do NOT mix battery chemistry, SLA main pack add an SLA, lithium pack add Lithium. I would recommend using isolators to keep one battery from 'charging' the other. The advantage of paralleled packs is it reduces the current drain on the packs, which is better for the batteries.

i got mine used for 400 it was a 2008 with under 500 miles on it
so i will go with the same chemistry of batteries for sure but would you recomend using the same brand or would others be compatable?
also i would like to use a switch to change between these two sets of batteries, but not quite sure about how one would go about setting that up.

also it has a set of (4) 12v / 20 amps batteries
Any links or information on the isolators?
A source for purchase would be nice.
