EVI-INC is a truck customizer shop that specializes in electric trucks. They've set up a project with UPS to make electric UPS delivery vans.
It has a 150 kilowatt motor on board - 60 miles/hr max speed - 90 miles average range - 99 kilowatt-hour battery pack
blimey, 99kwh....thats the most in an EV I have heard of yet. (Tesla is 53kwh).
even in LiFePO4 thats ~1000kg
or in LiCo thats aroun 600kg cells only.

Matt, take a look at the trucks at http://balqon.com - I've talked a bunch with their VP of R&D and he tells me their biggest truck has a 250 kilowatt-hour battery pack.

That's interesting. A heavy, inneficient van can travel 90 miles on a 99KWH pack. A state of the art car like a tesla would travel over 450 miles on that energy...
