Hey guys and gals im new to the forums but i just wasted hours here looking through everything great site. I am looking for a hub motor for a Electric Motorcycle something between 72-120 volts but larger then the 13 inch wheels i keep finding. A hub motor around 16 or 17 inches is what i'm looking for. If all else fails i will do a PMG motor with a belt nut i was trying to save space for more batteries. If anyone could help me out i would be greatly appreciative.

Sorry to reply to my own post i found this later this morning http://www.enertrac.net/product.php But i do have a few questions on if if someone would be so nice. 1. Would running two of these at the same wattage gain me more Speed? I guess i am just stuck that if it only turns so fast at 72 volts 2 motors will turn the same speed and it just might give me more acceleration and not top speed since the motor is doing half the work. 2.Would a hub motor like this be a DIY build some thing i might be able to do in my shop here at the house. Im not the smartest man on the planet but am more then capable to figure most things out. thanks again all
total power output is determined by how much your batteries can supply and what your controller can take.
using 2 motors might increase total power output, but only by being more efficient.
you have have to actually test it.
as for fitting the motor to a wheel, its spoked, so seek out your local old bike club.
they could probably do it for you.

The enertrac motor is going to be a good choice for a light motorcycle, I've been watching the devleopment over at the endless-sphere forums.

The max rpm of a hub motor is going to be determined mostly by the voltage going into it. So you are right, using a pair will get you more acceleration but not any improvement in top speed (assuming you are voltage limited rather than power limited).
I don't think motor design is a suitable task for DIY, but building a motorbike around this motor probably is.

Since you're interested in a hub motor I was going to suggest EnerTrac. I rode one of their prototype bikes last year and it was pretty darn good.
