Virtually positive now (see earlier thread for more details) that I can get a new 2007 Vectrix with warranty after CA rebate for $3,200.
I also have the choice of a new 2008 Vectrix for for $4,200 or a new 2009 Vectrix for $5,200.
Is a new 2008 $1,000 better than a new 2007? If there are some very good reasons I might pop for the 2008. $2k more for a 2009 isn't likely.

What are the VINs?
R could figure out all sorts of details for you if you know the VIN's.
I would not put too much faith in that warranty. The dealer might be willing, but the actual ability to fix things if they fail may be a different matter.
At that price you should simply buy two of them!

I need the warranty to get the $1,500 rebate. I hope it will at least cover a pack replacement if I can't milk it for two years.

You'll have a lot less hassle in the long run with a more standard 48v 1500w scooter that you can get for a $1000
Not much difference between all of them. I have a 2007 and a 2008. Their battery cells were all originally build in 2005-2006. So thats the problem. The batteries are old and were stored. First in China, the in Bedford, the in the bike wherever it was stored. The cells may be fine but how would you know? Those of us with failed batteries (both of my bikes) are wary of the fact that all it takes is one or two bad cells to reverse polarity, heat up and bring the others down. Your best bet would actually be a used bike that has a recent battery replacment with cells manufactured in the last year. On the other hand, at $3200 the reisk is small. You could probably sell the parts for $3000. Best of luck, they are fun bikes!
