Of course, two weeks later Lightning Motors did a 173 miles/hr land speed record at Bonneville Lightning Motors strikes with new electric motorcycle land speed record at BUB Speed Trials. In my book setting a land speed record is more significant than a speed set at a drag track.

Wow ! I'll be happy with an electric bike that can go 90MPH and a distance of 250Miles on a full charge. Wonder if there's such an Electric Motorcycle with that Specs yet ? Paul

it would depend at what speed you want to be able to get 250 miles to a charge.
if its 250miles at 90mph, than no production bike of *any* fuel source can do that.
If using petrol, ~35L (9.3 gal) of petrol, almost unheard of tank capacity in a bike.
in electricity, thats 64kwh
if its 250miles @ 60mph, with the ability to do 90mph (so a 250cc equivalent)
the energy requirement becomes 31kwh, (or a petrol bike that carries 17.5L or 4.6 gal).
Thats possible with Large Format Lithium Cobalt, but will make for a heavy bike (~350kg total).
its all about finding an storage medium with enough energy density.
going far and fast is much easier with a car.
the energy requirement at speed are the same for both a small car or a bike.
A car can carry far more energy.
