Re: scooter wil not run

Enstalled? How far forward does it go? When my battery pack was charged or so I thought it did that for a foot then died till I did it again. One of my new batteries was dead dead. It charged up in short time and died just as fast. I load tested every one and found two more that were weak and replaced the whole pack with matching load tested batteries. There is a bank of capacitors in the black box and it can go for a second or two on just charge of capacitors. I guess some black boxes are aluminum so I should say controller. I like to test every battery with a small load tester frum? Harbor Freight. It does 50 amps and that seems good for most scooters.
Some times a brake switch can cause similar problems too. Also if you have too much voltage it can go into shutdown also like when I did 48 volt on my TANK scooter and did 60 volts. I waited till lights pulled voltage down to 64 point something and it went forwards. Maybe if you installed them it might go better~er?

Re: scooter wil not run

al777,are you bike original 6 battery? if you try to modify from 3/4 to 6, you need to change a controller of 72V which is really rear. 60V is available I know.

Re: scooter wil not run

Try going back to 5 battery pack? All controllers have under and over voltage set ups in controller.

Re: scooter wil not run

generally you should not change the voltage. If your original is 48V,you can only put 4 batteries in. The controller and motor and powermeter are all the same voltage. It will be very complicate to add more battery in the bike. I would suggest you keep the original way.If you really want more range you can use bigger battery like 20AH if you can find a place to put.

Re: scooter wil not run

I had a 2003 TANK and it did the Same thing. I went to 60 volt and it apeared to now work. I turned on lights and aftera hour the pack voltage went low enuff vs your enstalled and rode it till bike dealer blew it up some how. The cover Joltage circuit kept if from going. I gave me 2 miles more range but wasted my time killing battery pack for an hour. I ordred a 60 volt controller and it worked fine but am too lazy to fit it in under trunk area so it is in back of garage till i get more fre time.

Bike controller likw AC or variable frequency controllers have under and ovver voltage stuph billed in?
