And the original VX-1 is no longer shown... :-(
I also noticed that the mileage claim is the same for the new LI types as it was for the NiMH VX-1 (50.000 miles / 10 years with 1700 cycles)
I found an interesting piece of text in the vmoto annual report of 2010 about the VX-2:
That is almost USD3500 each!
Once you go EV, Gas is history!
I Hope it works out much better this time (for customers AND Vectrix Corp.)
Crossing fingers Mike
Does anyone know the expected prices and/or availability of these products?

I saw this in one of the emails I got from my dealer in Belgium (it was part of a chat between him and someone at escini)
(translated:) "the price of the VX-2 is indeed set at €3995 21% tax included. will have to add €195 for transport."
The price is also visible on his website.
another point in the same e-mail: it seems that the future distribution of Vectrix in the BE-NL-LUX will be done by "Linea Trovata" instead of Escini.

Not so good for me! First my dealer quits (elipo) now my importer?
I wonder what will happen with my warranty because my batteries seem to degrade fast.

At least one employee from Escini will jump to (or co-operate with) Linea Trovata
(Gys - I think that's a good thing)

@turok,
googling found me the press release for this.
It is in Dutch but it says they will distribute the VX-2. And that it will be Europe wide.
The VX-1 is mentioned but no statements of being the importer or such.
Man I wish this dealer/importer stuff would settle down.

According to the Vectrix reps at the Powersports Dealer Expo in Indianapolis last weekend
VX-3 Available "soon"; others available "now"

Wow... I feel this is terribly wrong. In my opinion these prices are too expensive.
Let me imagine the "correct" prices for SPAIN (europe), to make these models best selling EV in their class.
2011 VX1-Li+ 8,595 EUR
2011 VX1-Li 5,995 EUR
2009 VX1 5,595 EUR
2011 VX2 2,395 EUR
2011 VX3 9,595 EUR.
When the original NIMH Vecrixs approached the 6000 eur mark in SPAIN, they sarted to sell at fast pace. If vectrix sets the price too high, nobody is going to buy them. With lower price, higher sales should compensate the difference in the future (replacement kits, upgrading kits, extra widshields, lower seats, center stands and so on. And the more vectrix you have on the road, the more people know about it, and more people will consider buying it... Do you know how many piaggio MP3 hybrid were sold in spain? ZERO! It's price? 8.999 euros. For this price you can buy a very decent car!!
Hi,
I wonder if the LI and LI+ versions will have a decent BMS.. Guess not..
Will they face the same kind of problems as the Nimh version then?

Yup, I agree - I think they are too expensive. However, I don't think they've done anything radical to reduce their production costs - this is likely what they need to sell them for (vs. what the market may pay!)

Yes, even with the cost of the US dollar at an all time low, and having removed the enormouse cost of capitalisation and development, Vectrix is still too expesive and too limited to become a volume seller.
So it's catch 22, Vectrix needs a lower price to attract volume sales. Without volume sales Vectrix can't lower the price. Offering more models won't help. This will only dissapate their efforts.
Vectrix nneds either a JV with a maker rich enough to use Vectrix as a loss leader, or simply abandon manufacture and brand engineer products built more economically.

I wonder what dealer cost will be compared to "MSRP"? Guess I will do a fishing expedition at my local dealer.
@ Burgermario
the prices in Spain are not lower (I guess)
R was just imagining the "right" price :-)
