Check out the 5th bike just announced. The Zero XU. An urban bike based on the Zero X. A perfect choice for local city commutes who don't have a garage or place to charge outside... The packs are removable/swappable!

Unfortunately the XU pack is only 1.7kWh. :(

It is a small pack put it is also swappable with the ability to charge off the bike. I think this option is even more niche but I have heard numerous threads about how nice it would be to have a bike with a removable pack for those who live in an apartment without a garage or ability to plug in the bike outdoors. It also is a great "street legal" bike for those who already have a Zero X or MX and can swap the packs and share amongst the bikes. Not a good fit for me but I'm sure others are excited about this one.

The Zero dealer in Spain is 10 km away from Home. I'll have a look at these motorbikes, yhe belt transmission looks promising. But I can't understand: 10.000 euros and they don't seat two passengers?? this is a kind of "comercial suicide"...

HAHA! Being a passenger on a two-wheeler feels more like suicide to me than anything else I've tried!

Re: Zero Motorcycles unveils 2011 electric motorcycle ...

when I was looking for an EV in 2008, I was also looking at them Zero's, and thay would have been second choice
They look like they're a blast to ride!
And they even look better/nicer now.

But... I'm too old to risk breaking my back (among other bodyparts) while playing with such fun-toys, and I don't think they're really comfortable for commuting like I do.

If they'd give me one for free I'd keep it (and probably have lots of dangerous fun with it :-)), but I wouldn't trade my (2 year old) V for it.. (not for a Brammo either for that matter)

Re: Zero Motorcycles unveils 2011 electric motorcycle ...

It depends on the country. Cultural differences are quite strong. Here in Australia only one of the top 10 selling motorcycles have a seat for a passenger.
