72V 1500W Controllers FOR SALE - UK VENDOR

I have a batch of 72V controllers direct from the factory that I'm selling for a very reasonable £35 + £4.50 p&p per unit.
http://www.zenid.com/shop.htm

They're exactly the same brand ("Hua Tong") as the first one I got from China which I am now using as a spare (see my blog).

Nice and fresh, too :)

Interesting Blog, made me laugh the bit about Customs adding Random amounts to packages. Thats happened to my overseas orders!
Can these controllers be used at lower voltagages, e.g. 48v? (Do these controllers have a low voltage cut off, if so what is it set at and can it be lowered?)
Thanks

Hi Colin,

Glad you liked the blog. Yeah, customs are really weird with orders, - they slam charges on some, yet others get through without any problems. All of my stuff from China seems to arrive without any trouble at all. I suspect they're well versed in 'being creative' with customs documentation by classifying things as a 'gift' etc.

As for the controller. No, this is just a cheap-and-cheerful basic unit that will get you on the road with a 72V arrangement, which in most people's cases involves adding a couple of batteries to their 48V bike. It isn't programmable, to the best of my knowledge. I think these are just pre-programmed for a typical 72V SLA arrangement. For a more snazzy unit that you can program the lvc for, or which supports a range of input voltage (36-72V for example), you pay quite a premium. Look on ebay to see what some people are asking for that kind of thing!

All the best,

Zenid

If there isnt a low voltage cut out Im sure it would work at 48v, do you think there is one built in to that controller?

Also thought the 8 way connector you wired into your battery pack for monitoring and balancing was nicely done. Where did you get that?

We were talking about this on another thread recently to do with parallel charging. (mf70 had done that sort of plug)
Ive just ordered the bits from powerwerx, com to make my own 12 way to 12 way connector because I want my 36v LifePO4 pack to be swappable from series use to parallel charging.

Mf70 said that these Andersons connectors can be clicked together like lego to make these block connectors. I will post pictures here when they arrive. Gonna be a few days as from the US + probably will incur the Random Customs tax haha!

There IS a low voltage cut-out on it. It's set to a default that's suitable for a 72V battery arrangement, and I think it cuts out at around 62-65V. If you know what you're doing, then you might be able to change this by reprogramming it, but I have no idea how you would accomplish this on this type of controller, or if you'd have to also dabble with other things on the board too.

As for the battery header-board, I designed and built that myself (it's common-sense, really) when I had plenty of time to kill. I made it so there was a board you just plug into an eight-way connector that sits by the batteries under the seat. Full instructions here:

Good luck with getting your bits safely in from the US. The thing that got me annoyed was that duty was only abotu £3.50, but they smacked on an £8 'administration fee' too! >:(
