Feedback on not checking my cell voltages

Last week PGT400 ad I were discussing me not using a BMS on my headway Lifepo4 pack ... he was saying you cant go 'bareback' (his word for not using BMS protection! Haha) for very long without them going out of Balance.
Well he was right because I said I would stop doing the manual checking and topping up of low cells to see what happens, and after only 10 days I now have a cell that is much lower that the others.
I used to series charge to 3.6v each on average, and top up any low ones (that maybe only reached 3.5v)
But having not done that for nearly two weeks, after runnlowbat.jpging the pack down today I have a seriously low cell whilst the other cells are still over 3.2v

Balance Bus invention

However I liked not having to check the cells and top up so Ive made a Balance Bus as Im now using a powerplug block on all my batteries.

Im just going to leave this on at night, it seems to slowly balance the cells on its own.
It just connects all the +ves and +ves of all cells.
Ive just tried it and after 20 minutes the lowest cell had risen up a bit nearer the average of the pack. Im going to try leaving it on all night while Im not using the bike and measure the pack tomorrow!

Re: Balance Bus results

Wow, after leaving the 'BalanceBus' on overnight all cells read the same voltage this morning!

Now I know that doesnt mean the capacities must be equal, but Im thinking this may be a very simple way to help balance.

I will keep series charging and use this at night and see how it goes!!
